Streaming movies from file share on network 'generally' works great. Smooth picture, great audio.
I have never in my life had so much trouble with file shares. One day this thing can watch movies and tv shows all day long from my HTPC downstairs, the next day it won't find the file share or it will try to say that the 'anonymous' login is incorrect. Permissions are all set up, and every other device in the household can access said file share perfectly.
Aside from the network access woes, the GUI likes to freeze a lot - sometimes requiring me to pull the power.
Maybe I've just been a bit spoiled having a real HTPC in my living room, and thought this would be an 'easy' extension of that experience. This thing has been a royal pain in the rear and hardly worth the 99 bucks I got it for. Once I find a better alternative this thing will make for some good target practice.
