I'm a software programmer, but a newby to tablets, so this was my first tablet. I purchased it for e-reader, having web/email access when traveling.
So overall an attractive tablet at a good price, with a reasonable uptodate Android 4.2 Jelly bean and WiFi access.
I installed K9-mail which was a dream to use. For web access chrome is workable but jerky.
The camera is good for me and tried the movie as well, and microphone appears adequate. Seems hard to manage the picture files.
Jerky screen, unreliable and requires resetting perhaps once a week. Occasionally just freezes - then need to use paperclip to reset the hardware to recover. There are hints in some discussion boards that there is a software update and it checks for an update every day and says system is up todate. The most strange is the slow jerkiness of the screen, and slow filling of a web page. With 2G of ram this shouldn't be a ram problem, I enabled system debugging and a visible process when slow screen updates is rknand_buffer. I pulled out the uSD chip incase access to that was a problem. I've pulled AVG App from the system to see if that was causing it.
The battery is relatively limited, and the way round this would be with an external battery pack, however the power is not 5V (its 9V) which means can't extend the battery life with an external rechargeable battery pack
Plugging an external USB stick with the provided cable didn't seem to work.
When changing between Screen Normal and HD mode requires reboot. With Screen in HD touch screen is even more unresponsive and slow to load. Maybe the processor is under-powered. Does get there eventually.
The all black surround makes it difficult to figure out the buttons, camera and power jack so labeled the ports.
In the last two weeks I purchased direct from google the newly released cellphone Nexus 5(Android 4.4 2G ram+dual fast processors) and its a dream. Smooth response. To give its due its screen is only 5"
