This is not a disk drive. It's a little IP addressable box with a disk inside. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Even when it work's, it's HORRIBLE slow. It has a bad habit of "wandering off" when you try to access it.. I added a switch to the network yesterday and now have NO access to it at all.
It is not a device that you can trust to be available when you need it. Resetting it is a waste of time. Even doing a hard reset appears to seriously confuse it. FSM forbid you put a large number of videos on it. That requires it to regularly rebuild the DLNA database during which time it is unavailable for you. The short of it is that it doesn't do what you're buying it for.
I have spent HOURS and HOURS on the line with your first and second level support. It scares me that I know more than your engineers do. My month of online "help?" is about to expire and I still don't have a box I can count on Please stop releasing products that are simply vaporware.
Dear Acordant, we are sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience with your device. Actual transfer rates can vary based on your local area network topology, hard drive disk read/write speeds, system activity, and length of cable. To achieve maximum transfer rates, we recommend using Giga-bit network devices, because your transfer rates will only be as fast as your slowest network component. You may also want to click on the following link for some suggestions on how to improve your network transfer rate.
