Good idea, but flawed 12/01/2013
6 tuners over the network. Can be used with multiple PCs simultaneously.
Buggy. I have been trying to get this tuner to work in a stable manner for weeks. I have used it on multiple PCs, and attempted to work with Ceton Support to resolve my issues, without success. Mainly the behavior I have seen are:
-Channels will drop out and report "no signal" on some of the tuners after it's been running for a while.
-The tuner itself will lock up and stop showing up on the network for any PCs.
For the first few weeks those problems came up infrequently. They began to happen more and more often the longer I had it up and running.
I've attempted to use it with Windows 8.1 WMC, and Windows 7 on completely different PCs and seen basically the same behavior.
When it's working, it works great. However, that isn't enough of the time to make it worthwhile. I can't recommend this to anyone. If you don't *need* the networking capability, get an internal card.
I worked with Ceton support for over 2 weeks; they originally tried to blame my network, then my PC, after I sent them multiple diagnostic reports from their tools. Running into the same issues on a different computer changed their tune slightly, but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
I've heard good things about the PCI-E version of their 6 tuner, and might try that one instead before giving up on the company.
