Worked well for over a month as a desktop system drive with very light use.
S.M.A.R.T. failed on 12/08/2013, just outside of NewEgg's 30-day refund or return window. Now I have to send back to Western Digital for one of their refurbs. Kind of a pain, because I had spent many days configuring Windows 7, which is not the easiest operating system in the world to configure.
This is not the only Western Digital drive I've had lately that's gone south. I used to be a Western Digital fan boy. Now I'm looking at other brands and going to try them out for a while.

Western Digital does rigorously test and verify all of our drives, prior to shipping, with burn-in and diagnostic tests, but there are many variables that can result in a failed drive, such as power outages, accidental physical damage, internal component failure, and computer viruses, just to name a few. Please understand that our warranty replacement drives are recertified and not refurbished. They must pass the same rigorous testing and diagnostics as our factory direct drives. As a troubleshooting step, we recommend running either our WINDLG diagnostics software or Macs built-in Disk Utility to check your drives health.
