This review is from: Koutech 4-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Add-On Card Model IO-PU430
- It functions.
- In principle, it would be nice for older computers or when you've run out of PCIe.
- USB 3.0 is fast.
- This card, however, isn't fast (and I kinda figured this would happen going in).
- Vertical USB slots are an interesting choice, but only just barely allow access in my case.
On a 66MHz PCI bus, this probably could keep up, but mine transferred just as fast (~30MBps) on the built in USB 2.0 on the computer I was intending to use it in.
Before you ask: yes, I did set the jumper to 66MHz mode, didn't make a difference. No, there were no other PCI cards installed. Yes, I had power running to it.
Time for my first Newegg RMA (out of a dozen orders).
