770 issues with Windows 8 12/13/2013
This card runs cool and quiet and is actually well designed .
The issue seems to be with the entire Nvidia 770 line and Windows 8 . I was running an Nvidia GTX 650 Ti , and was getting 80 FPS in Team Fortress 2 and 50 FPS in Final Fantasy XIV:ARR . I installed this card and in Team Fortress 2 I am now getting 25 FPS and in Final Fantasy XIV:ARR I am getting 14 FPS average , and that is with everything turned LOW , if I max out settings it drops to 2 FPS. I even tried using the newest Beta Drivers from Nvidia and they do not improve the situation . I reinstalled WIndows 7 and the FPS in all games was in the 50 - 100 FPS range. This only seems to be with the 770 line and Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 ( I tried both ).
I kept this card past the return date hoping that either a Microsoft update or an Nvidia driver update would repair the issues . I tried every tweak on the internet trying to get better frame rates with this card and with various games.
If I could return this card and get my money back I would . I'd get a 760 line card , they apparently don't have the issues the 770 line have.
