This review is from: SONY DREX12IP/BLK Four-conductor gold-plated stereo mini plug for iPod with remote function Connector Phone Headset
Pros:
Plain sound quality, good enough for the average user looking for a cheap and decent earphone. If you're looking for something better, you really shouldn't be looking for sub $10 earphone (with rebate).
Cons:
I know from my past experiences with Sony that this will definitely last me at least a good year but it still feels cheap and a bit flimsy. Also, it's recommended you get an alcohol wipe to clean it once before using because this is refurbished.
Overall Review:
I own a higher-end ($120 bought in 2012) Sony active noise-cancelling earphone to compare with, and I can definitely say Sony went very cheap with the quality of this earphone. However, the sound's aren't that bad.
I actually bought this earphone because my noise-cancelling one has a big clip-on module (for battery and buttons) in the middle which gets annoying for in-doors usage. I just wanted a cheap, light weight, and decent earphones.(iPhone controller was a bonus)
Final thought: Only get this earphone if you are willing to go through the MIR process. It's definitely not worth the whole $20, but definitely the best for $5.
