This review is from: ASUS P9X79 LE LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros:
No need for an expensive, heavy duty mobo with 4+ 6GB/s SATA connectors. Been 4 months and this board still accommodates my:
i7 4820k @ 4.5GHz Overclocked Extreme Processor,
EVGA Nvidia GTX 770 (FTW Overclocked), and my
Samsung 840 PRO w/ RAPID mode enabled
quite nicely with no visible loss of speed for any of my other hardware components. Overheating is also not an issue as this piece of hardware will run cooler than everything else in your chassis. After running full stress-test benchmarks for my SSD, CPU, and GPU, this mobo proves that you do not need a high end mobo to achieve what you want out of a competition worthy gaming PC.
Cons:
For anyone looking to own this motherboard for their new i7 Ivy-Bridge CPU, be sure to download the appropriate BIOS driver from the ASUS website, plug your USB into the BIOS FlashBack slot, and hit the BIOS_FLBK button on the mobo. I'm sure all new boards shipped at this point will have the updated BIOS to where you do not have to do that, but there may be some boards (RMA'd or skipped over or otherwise) that don't have the update, so it may not display anything on your monitor as well as a flurry of red CPU/VGA LEDs lighting up.
