I bought this monitor in May 2012. Out of the box it comes preset to RTS Gaming. Best thing to do is set monitor to Standard and then you can adjust things manually to your taste. For me Contrast 45, Brightness 45, Sharpness 5, Gamma 5 works fine for surfing the web. For Flight Simulation at night I set the gamma to 3 which makes it easier to see in the dark.
Overall I am very pleased with this monitor. Has a very sturdy and well built Stand, The Monitor is well built., Screen Colors and Contrast are good after some manual tweaking.
I did have a problem that started in December of 2013. The monitor has 4 LEDs that shine up from the bottom. One on left and right and 2 in the middle. Around Christmas the side LEDs would not function so my screen was very dim on the sides.
I was worried about Warranty Service because I have read other reviews back in 2005-2006. where some users had dismal customer service and warranty experiences. I am happy to say their customer service is much Improved now. They replied to my email within 6 hrs and gave me an RMA number. I Shipped it 4 day ground to California. They had it 4 days and then sent me a Replacement back via 4 day ground. Total Turn around time with weekends from the day I sent it in till I got the replacement back was 2 weeks.
That is Excellent Turnaround time since I am on the East Coast. I give them 5 Stars on Warranty and Customer Service as well.
