Not as good as my original review 02/12/2014
**** Four star performer. - That's not bad depending on what you are looking for. (The 3 stars averages my earlier review to 4)
Very Capable Decent Responsive tab at a great price. Very solid build. Great Screen w good Color.
Bluetooth Connection Problems;
Audio trips up on .flac and higher bitrate .mp3s.
I subtracted two stars to average out my earlier 5 star review to 4 stars which is what I think this tab rates.
Purchased with cradle which I highly recommend. It is a very cradle and adds USB and HDMI as well as of course charging.
Verified that Bluetooth profiles were not the problem but out of about 10 BTs I tried to pair, I was only able to pair a keyboard (which worked right away without a hitch) and one headset after 30+ attempts. The latter paired a few attempts after installing a 3rd party BT app (which shouldn't really make any difference.)
On all these problems it made no difference whether wireless was on or off or that all other apps had been stopped. I also removed all potential sources of interference and went as far as to attempt pairing back in the woods. The headphones that I did manage to pair had decent range up to 20 ft or more just like my best BT dongles.
I also verified it was not an antenna problem by shaking the unit while playing audio (once I did manage to pair a headphone.
The audio was tested with both the one paired headset and just speakers with WiFi off and all other apps stopped. Music breaks up occasionally with nothing else running (all apps stopped using app mngr) and files 100% verified good. I believe this can be traced back to the Tegra 3 which utilizes an SoC (Integrated) DAC and is reputed to not be the best DAC around. If you play lower Bitrate MP3s it probably wouldn't be an issue. For me it ruins a song if it burps just once. If you listen to high bit rate or lossless you may be looking for a more expensive Tegra 4 (5 core), QUALCOMM, Rockchip or Allwinner tab.
