iView CyberPad 420TPC Android Tablet - 1.2GHz 512MB DDR3 4GB flash memory 4.3" Tablet WIFI Android 4.2 White (iVIEW-420TPC-WT)
  • Cortex A8 CPU (1.2GHz)
  • 4.3" TFT Capacitive Touch Screen, 480 x 272
  • Camera 0.3MP, WIFI 802.11b/g
  • 512MB DDR3 4GB flash memory
  • Android 4.2, White Color

Pros:

I use this tablet mostly for listening to music and keeping text notes, and some light gaming; handles Angry Birds and an 'Asteroids' remake nicely, for example. Even some light 3D gaming works great. Video playback (Via Netflix or YouTube) are all very good, and the camera is ... good enough. I also like that it'll fit in my pocket (or maybe a very large wallet) which is perfect for my needs.

It's capable enough to handle some simulation apps (Physics, fluid dynamics, Game of Life, Langton's Ant, fireworks, etc.) at good resolutions for each.

Cons:

The WiFi signal might be less than average - I placed my Tablet on my Laptop to compare, my laptop had a good connection, while my tablet had practically no connection at all, at a distance of ~35 feet/~10.5 meters. To be clear there are also 3 walls and 3 large metal objects(Microwave, etc.) between the router and my tablet in this experiment.

Of course the connection is perfect if I bring the tablet to within a few feet of the router.

Some websites load very slowly, even when I have a strong connection; Hulu.com will freeze the default browser for example, and the Dolphin Browser can load it... *eventually*. Though like I said before, the videos themselves play nicely, just the web pages don't like to load.
Thankfully this isn't a problem for the Play Store or the SlideMe marketplace via their built-in apps, they never freeze or crash, so at least browsing for new apps is doable. I guess it's just the tablet doesn't like normal web browsers?

Also, if you use the built-in alarm clock feature and you listen to music with headphones plugged into it... make sure you take your headphones off before the alarm goes off. You can thank me when you don't need to get a hearing aid. (The alarms will always play at full volume, even if you were listening to music at a very low volume - murder for headphone wearers!)

Overall Review:

For gamers, note the small screen size! Some games were made with larger screens in mind and they may be more difficult to play on a small tablet like this - for example, text may be rendered too small to read, and tapping buttons could be difficult when they're a fraction of the size of your fingertip. Though there are 'accessibility options' that allow you to zoom on any screen, the zoomed image will be very pixelated, so it might not help you read small text any better anyway. So, just be careful if you mainly have gaming in mind.

Sometimes it'll become very warm while charging and running CPU intensive apps. I'm not sure if that's normal or not, but I sure didn't mind during cold winter nights.

All around, pretty much meets my needs and expectations. Stabler, faster web browsing would be nice, but oh well.
