AsRock Fatal1ty z87 Killer 1150 ATX Motherboard 03/04/2014
-- Easy UEFI Bios to use and understand; even beginners can do it by themselves
--Affordable entry-level z87 motherboard w/ top-end MOBO features & apps
--Sound Purity Amp can support 600 ohm headsets and gives great sound quality/clarity
--Gold caps a nice feature, but not necessary.
--Black and Red color scheme motherboard
--Board build quality is questionable (quite flimsy compared to high-end motherboards, but you get what you pay for. I wouldn't recommend if you're planning on running SLI/Crossfire heavy GPU's)
--Two of the five on-board fan power outlets isn't in the best places for wiring (in the middle of the motherboard)
--Only two of the five on-board fan power outlets are 4-pin
--Bad installation pictures, especially the case led+/- & power pin connections. Took me twice to wire it correctly and get the motherboard turned on.
--Tends to have more bad reviews than good reviews
**A review of this motherboard after 40 days.
Everything runs fine and I am not an overclocker/ benchmarker fanatic. Just a regular PC user playing mediocre games. Majority of the bad reviews are people who tend to mess around with PC parts and products.
My Fatal1ty mouse port USB is faulty when playing games, after extensive testing of my mouse polling options, swapped batteries, cleaned mouse, changed between two mouse, and changing my mouse pad. Swapped to front PC USB 2.0 & I had no more mouse cursor stuttering. Other than that, everything is ok. I won't RMA this board over a faulty Gaming Mouse Port.
Overall, excellent board for people looking for a good gaming motherboard w/o the price tag. Take my word from an average gamer w/ little tech knowledge.
