Immediately recognized by Win 8.1 on two different computers. It is much more quiet than I thought it would be, though it can spin up and be loud for brief periods. It is extremely attractive. Someone reported that the main body of it is cheap plastic. I'm sure it's some form of composite, but it does not look cheap at all IMHO, but rather elegant. It seems very well built. So far, I am very pleased with the software suite that came with it despite being dated. The Cyberlink PowerDVD works well without issue. For those not wanting to use the software, there is a way to get VLC to play Blu-Ray, I've been successful on two computers. It takes a little work, but it does work quite well.
None so far.
The price is a tad steep, but it appears to be a well-built gadget and the software is really a plus. You get what you pay for, and I suspect I will not be getting too many more burners as these seem to be a fading technology. I hope this lasts for while. It looks like it should.
