Great Deal 03/16/2014
I bought this to replace a 250gb drive in an HP Pavilion g series laptop. The laptop was given to me and the drive that came with it was fried so I replaced it with the HGST. It's been up and running for about three months with no glitches whatsoever. I've been playing some low-mid level games on it (BF, BF2142, Crysis, etc.) with some pretty good success. I bought an HP restore disk from the factory and have Windows 7 as the OS. So far, so good.
It was a bit skinny for the HP but once it was anchored it didn't seem to matter. That's really not a con. I had to dig deep to find a con. Maybe I could throw in the fact taht it didn't fit the protective sleeve that was on the drive I replaced (too thin for the sleeve) but I made the sleeve work. Although I could've just as well ordered another for it when I bought the drive.
If you're looking for a cheap (price), durable drive for your laptop I recommend you give it a try. It's in a hand-me-down, previously fried laptop that I got for free and after investing 100 dollars (this hard drive and the restore disk) and some change I have a very operable, very reliable and fun laptop. I highly recommend this drive.
