Card Reader / eSATA Works Fine 04/02/2014
Adds a card reader and eSATA port to my computer.
USB ports under-powered (despite external power source via SATA power connector). Cannot read from USB-powered harddrives or even thumbdrives. I would have returned but the card reader and eSATA port seem to work fine, and that's what I really needed.
Small annoyance is that EACH card slot shows up as a disconnected disk in Windows all the time (card inserted or not). 5 extra drives makes it hard to keep track of which drive letter is which. Though I could assign them letters or just map them to folders if I really wanted to.
I bought this for the card reader and eSATA port, so the underpowered USB doesn't bug me too much, and the USB ports DO work for my Logitech controller, but I could not successfully read data from any thumb drives or HDDs. I find it odd as I assume the working card-reader is connected to the same USB hub as the 3 USB ports.
