Good Fan 05/08/2014
Very nice length on the power cable. Should fit just about any case. I have this installed as a side-intake, and I can easily remove the door and move it out of the way without unplugging the fan.
Wind sheer noise. I bought a few different fans to try them out. Despite having the most marketing about wind sheer and turbulence reduction, this fan had the most noticeable wind noise. We're not talking loud by any means (testing was done outside the case in open air), but stacked up against traditional fan blades I would have expected this fan to be the best, it was not.
Had I not purchased other fans I might not have even noticed, but I felt I had to take off an egg in this situation.
With these large 140mm fans, static pressure becomes an issue. I paired this with a semi-fine mesh Silverstone filter, and the air flow reduction was quite noticeable. Not deducting any eggs since I'm sure the filter is just as much at fault. Didn't test the filter with the other fans but the pressure ratings listed on the packaging were superior to the other fans.
In the end, I went with this fan because of the cord length, anti-vibration padding (since this is attached to the door), and because it had LEDs. Noise is not a problem, especially compared to my GPUs and CPU. A quality fan over all.
