SteelSeries 9H Gaming Headset 06/07/2014
This review is from: SteelSeries 9H Gaming Headset
very decent sound quality
easy to wear (comfortable)
very decent sound quality (for gaming)
volume control on the headset cord
mic sounds good
probably should be in a little lower price range.
USB sound card is kind of worthless
not very loud (with out a good sound card and amp)
ears get sweaty from leather after a while of gaming
After spending a little time with these headsets I give them a 4 out of 5. Over all these are good headset for gaming and very comparable to my A40s as far as the sound goes. With them hooked up to the "sound card" that comes with it the volume leaves something to be desired. I hooked them up to my ZX sound card with the amp that came with them and it is a night and day difference. So much that it is hard to tell the difference between these and my A40s that I use on a daily basis. They have very good stereo sound stage and 3d positioning in my FPS games sounds very good. If you are going to listen to music then its best you use an EQ to tune them to your liking because these are set up for gaming right out of the box. So real world sounds in game sound great and has a great deep bass for explosions, that's why you will probably have to tuned them differently for music playback. The metal headband and metal hinges feels like a fairly durable construction and they feel fairly light weight. Over they are a very decent headset for all around listening as long as your willing to EQ them for music. I personally feel they should be in a slightly lower price range but that just me being cheap:-)
