Overall Review:

First, the obligatory whines. The handle is much like my kids toys, manufactured in china cheap. Right off, I stripped the screw holding down the battery compartment. The cheap screw which is totally unnecessary. Then I put the battery case back in wrong which made it very difficult to get the cap off again. Geez, c'mon. And then the accessories like the mirror are easy to attach but a b to get off. Cut your finger or break the mirror in half, take your pick.

I tried unsucessfully to get the resolution on this before purchasing. Anyway as expected it's 640x480, not HD so I found going around the house the picture is often too grainy to recognize what I'm looking at. The display resolution is 234x480. In my opinion it's adequate and even better than my large screen for identifying objects but a bit grainy for me. Plus, the picture rotate button adjusts only the display not the incoming video.

The led light on the end seems to be very good. This is what has turned me off before on these types of cameras. However, because of the camera resolution and fixed focal lens the light can create white outs. Fortunately, there are buttons on the gun to dim or brigten the light.

My first task was to check the dust and by product build up in the furnace. Didn't find it very useful for that; the resolution is too poor. Then I used it on my truck engine. It was cool to look inside my piston cylinders but not very useful. There's carbon build up but I don't have enough experience to tell if it's normal or not. Then I used it to look inside a new portable evap cooler I bought. Again, interesting but not that useful.

No zoom function. I'm not sure I understand the reverse function button but I found it useful to first point the camera at some text on a page so I could understand the orientation of the camera sensor to the display.

I'm sure sometime this will come in handy. I'm always running into situations where I can't see very clearly. But, to make this really useful, I need to find a way to capture the video because for my taste the resolution is not very good to make out what I'm looking at right away.
