Inexpensive Path to Modern Win10 Computing 11/01/2015
This review is from: Intel NUC NUC5PPYH, HDMI, VGA, Intel HD Graphics, USB 3.0
Pros:
Compact, Quiet, Packed with all necessary ports and wireless features. Easy Windows 10 install.
Cons:
Processor is adequate but lacking in clock speed. No dual channel memory. Integrated graphics are adequate but weak.
Overall Review:
For the money this is a good option if you want to enter the modern mini-pc world with Windows 10. Installation was very simple, albeit slower than I expected even with installing from a flash drive to an SSD it took 30+ minutes.
This is a solid piece of technology, nothing mindblowing here except what Intel managed to pack into this little ashtray sized box. WinSAT Scores in Win10 Pro x64 with the free G.Skill DDR3 1600 4mb Ram and a Mushkin ECO2 SATAIII SSD are:
CPU: 6.8
D3D: 9.9
SSD: 8.0
GFX: 4.1
RAM: 5.9
