This review is from: ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink
asus p5b-e + conroe e6300 retail HSF put temps at 55c idle (I 7volt'd the fan since 12V didnt make much difference)and now this grapefruit sized thing has me at ~33-37C idle at stock speed. e6300 @ 2.4ghz OC --> 333FSB 1:1 vs 266 stock conroe fsb @ idle has me at ~39-42C. Sweetness.
there is no way I thought I'd buy an aftermarket HSF for the P5B-E before buying e6300 which all reviews state as 'low power'. I run a silent yonah CoreDuo (nl4-vm dh) on the game box in the living room and had my workstation (now this) on intel 730 1.6 /533fsb dothan OC'd to 2.4 800FSB 1:1 on p4p800-e and it was silent too @ 25W. This dothan is a power hungry beast compared to yonah and dothan - and the dothan has shorter instruction pipeline (felt faster) but only 1 core. So no prob connie conroe you wanna run hot then take this zalman and see if you can sweat
so whats another 45+ watts 24/7/365? uhhh I dunno? whats estimated kw/h per year * 12c pge? ahh who cares lets heat this place up.
