Excellent display, reliable, but pixel problems! 04/23/2007
This review is from: SCEPTRE X20WG-1080P Black 20.1" 5ms(GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1,000:1
Incredibly vivid and crisp display. The colors and contrast really shine next to my D**l monitors. DVI and VGA inputs work great. Everything you would want in a 20.1" widescreen LCD, except...
...of the 5 Sceptre monitors that have been ordered from my household, 4 have had a stuck or dead pixel (3 of which were this exact model). Unbelievable. One of this model had an issue with its auto-adjust feature, which seemed to be more of a firmware problem than hardware.
I have received 4 monitors of this exact model. 2 of them had stuck pixels that would not correct themselves with pressure, tapping, or software. 1 of them had a deal pixel (displaying no light whatsoever). It angers me that LCD manufacturers don't check for these things before sending out mass quantities of monitors with these pixel problems, which DO count as defects in my book. It is absurd to advertise a monitor as having 1680 * 1050 pixels when one or more don't work, then refuse to refund or repair the product because stuck and dead pixels are a "common issue"! This is quite frustrating for customers and retailers alike.
