Pros: This is THE most powerful notebook (not really used as a "lap"top) on the market today. Come on! Dual video cards, up to 3 hard drives, HD DVD burner, 4 GB of RAM, 17" screen, both DVI and VGA, TV-Tuner, all format card reader????? WOW, this is a beast. It outperforms 95% of desktops, and there are still processors coming online from Intel that will work with this notebook (hopefully needing just a BIOS update). If you need a portable workstation or server, this is THE notebook to get. End of transmission.

Cons: Battery. Period. Oh, and fan noise if it's too loud for your ears. This is meant as a powerful desktop replacement. You need to have this running via an A/C adapter plugged into the wall. Yes, you will get run-time with the battery, but not the 1.5-2 hours that you usually get.

Overall Review: Ace does not make the notebook, a company in Taiwan called "Clevo" makes them and supplies them to other companies such as Dell, HP, Alienware, Sager, etc. Oh, and the 8700M GT are now "old", the 8800M GTX are available. You can custom order this on other sites too (you might not need that many hard drives, nor 2 video cards), but this price on NewEgg is comparable.

Pros: The system is everything you'd want in a high-end desktop system but is portable. I'm in hotels 100 days a year and give presentations - the system allows me to hook up multiple screens, have 750GB of storage connected and gives me the power of a tower workstation in an 11 pound package.
The system itself is much cooler running than the Area 51 I used to have, yet has a quad core, 3 hard drives and dual video and I get about 90 minutes of battery life in the few occasions I actually need it. I like the faster FSB and quad core that you just cannot get with a mobile chipset. I have the older GeForce 7950GT, but I am sure the newer model is even better now.

Cons: The system has no real drawbacks except for the few times I need to actually carry it, it's a little bulky and battery life is not what a ROAD WARRIOR who actually works on planes (as opposed to me, I sleep) but considering all the positives, this is a very small sacrifice.

Overall Review: Ace has been around for a long time, and I have bought 4 systems from them, never have I been disappointed with Service from them...always very knowledgeable. Happy to see Newegg has picked them up - hope them pick up some of their other products, like storage, which they are also very good at.

Pros: Insane power. Enough said.

Cons: Loud, it needs to be set on a desk anyways so just as well have spent half as much on a desktop with more power.

Overall Review: Fun for LAN parties etc. Impractical for mom or grandma...
