Hi I was wondering will this system play games like Skyrim and on what settings? Also what about League of Legends and World of Warcraft.

You don't have to worry about LoL nor WoW. They both play just fine. Skyrim runs really smooth on max settings using the laptop's native resolution. (I haven't checked the FPS but it runs pretty smooth). Now for more demanding games like Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV you will have to play around with the settings to get as much as you can from this machine. Overall not a bad gaming laptop for what you're paying. It is definitely not a high end machine but it does perform well on most current video games.

Does this laptop come with Word/other microsoft programs or do you have to buy it separately?

They don't come with it, no, but you can always download OpenOffice as a free alternative to Microsoft Office.

How loud is this laptop during light use? Web browsing and say Microsoft word. I want to use it in class but I dont want turbo fans coming on

Hello, I recently bought this laptop and to say the least it is extremely quiet. I am a gamer and when running games like skyrim, borderlands 2, and other high resolution games, the laptop still pulls through without hardly any sounds. I don't think you'll have a problem in class at all.

I have been doing some research on the laptop and have read some reviews and some customers have been reporting that the Atheros wifi card is really bad and that the wifi randomly cuts off. Is this true? If so does it happen often and is there a solution to it?

I had near constant issues at first with dropping the connection sporadically, which persisted even after wiping the entire drive, installing my own copy of 8.1, and installing numerous different drivers.  I ended up buying a Broadcom wireless adapter, though I had to take it apart to replace the Atheros.  While it worked far better, it still seemed like my connection was slower than my other devices on the same network, although it may have been due to the router itself as it was very fast when connected to the internet on campus.

Does this computer have a CD/DVD drive?  Also is a notebook the same as a laptop?

It does not have a CD drive. You can purchase an external  CD-RW or Blu-Ray-RW unit that connects to the USB port. I seldom use the CD so this works perfectly for me.
The difference between Laptop or Notebook is subjective. For me it is the same thing. A Netbook would be a different thing, those are really small (7 to 10 inches diagonal screen size). This machine is 15.6 inches so it is a 
Laptop. The screen resolution is 1366x768, just a tad higher than 720p (1280x720). If you use this for web surfing, watching videos and office work it works just fine. It can even play modern games at medium details and speed, thanks to the Nvidia 840M discrete graphics. This card and the Intel i5 "U" chip do a great job in saving power, which translates to longer battery power time. It is a great deal at this price point.
If you are more into graphic design, the screen might not be enough for you. Ditto if you need heavy computing power. For that you might want a quad core i7 processor, a 1080p or higher screen, and a better video card like the 860m at least. That will cost at least 300 to 400 more of course.

Does this laptop support another monitor or do i need to buy an expantional usb to do that? (I don't like using keyboard nor mouse that comes on laptops nor like to look at the screen but i want a good laptop to move around for vacations and such and can run games such a WoW LoL and steam games and anyothers.

There is 1 VGA port and 1 HMDI port on the left side where you can connect an external monitor. Keep in mind that there is 1 USB 3.0 slot on the left and 2 USB 2.0 slots on the right. As for games, you'll be looking at low to medium graphics for everything. I haven't played too many games on this laptop yet, but I can play Bastion with no hiccups. For Left 4 Dead 2 to run smoothly, I have to compromise a lot: Bilinear filtering, No antialiasing, no vertical sync, and all graphics low except textures medium. For Dragon Age Origins, I have medium graphics, 2X Antialiasing, and Medium Textures smoothly. (Though I have noticed two times there was a weird graphical glitch while loading a new chapter, BUT I can't jump the gun and say the graphics card has issues because I run the game from the EA Origins app, which is known for causing a lot of problems with games.)

One reviewer mentioned issues with the keyboard not recognizing simultaneous combinations of keys.  This is rare in normal computer use, but very common when playing games where movement and abilities are activated at the same time.  Have you encountered this issue while playing games?

I haven't. The only problem I have encountered (in one game only) is sometimes the touchpad will lock up while you are pressing a key. It's a game I play called Dragon Nest where that sometimes happens. But with the right driver it doesn't. As for the computer not recognizing combination keys I have not had an issue.
