hard drive is making more and more noise. system has had 3 serious recovery issues in the last 30 days. is anyone experiencing similar issues or have there been other complaints? is there anything Newegg can do to replace this unit?

I have been using my laptop daily for months hours on end. I personally got a SSD as the main drive and moved the hard drive to secondary drive. I do use this for gaming and have all games on the secondary drive. To this point I have not had any problems with the drive. It is possible you have a bad hard drive. I would attempt to contact Newegg customer service although if it has been more than a month since you purchased the laptop they may have you contact Acer customer service.

Question 2

I want to upgrade the RAM and if possible the internal hard drive, like mpickle002 Mine is also running extremely slow. It seemed like it did right out of the box. I have the extended warranty and all that stuff but I'd like to see if just upgrading the memory will fix the slowness. What's a compatible RAM and Hard drive I could put in?

any 2.5 inch laptop PC hard drive should work. Im using an OCZ SSD (solid state disk) on it. When I used the SSD, I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 because I dont like the Metro UI and the bloatware on Windows 8 installation that came with the laptop. As for the RAM, you really shouldn't need to upgrade it unless you're editing large video or photo files. But if you would like to...204-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)  is the specifics of this memory.
