Pros: I have had this laptop for 4 days and I love it very much! I ended up taking the 500GB HD out of it and put in a 120GB Intel SSD Hard Drive and put a fresh copy of Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit on it, and it runs super fast. I tested an NEF photo on Photoshop CS4 and it runs pretty well. Some Pros: * 7 - 8 hours battery life * Great Screen Resolution * Love all the ports on it * Super light and compact * Laptop stays pretty cool and doesn't heat up too much on the bottom
Cons: Not really any problems here, but a couple little quips: * Intel HD Graphics - For something so light and for long battery life, I suppose that this is the trade off. Would LOVE to see dedicated graphics on this notebook. * 500 GB 5400rpm hard drive - the space is great, but I could tell a BIG performance difference after putting in a SSD Drive and not having all the Acer bloatware on there.
Overall Review: Very satisfied with this laptop, here is a couple of suggestions I recommend after purchasing this laptop: Buy A Solid State Hard Drive. Heavy duty programs like Photoshop run MUCH faster and Windows loads quicker. Install a fresh copy of Windows 7 and install all need drivers/programs from the Acer website.
Pros: *i5 Processor *4GB DDR3 RAM (chipset will accept 2 x 4GB - I have tested this myself and it works without any modifications) *1366 x 768 screen (looks AMAZING) *64-bit OS pre-installed *Compact form factor *3 USB 2.0 ports AND HDMI out
Cons: *Acer bloatware preinstalled *No Bluetooth?? (claims to have Bluetooth, but mine arrived without the chip, even though the bottom of the case indicated Broadcom Bluetooth module is present - don't know whether this is a unique case) *Battery life is NOT as exceptional as others are claiming - less than five hours with WiFi on and moderate web browsing
Overall Review: Overall, this is an EXCEPTIONAL laptop. I just haven't seen any other laptops this small with these features. Contrary to Acer's site, this laptop WILL accept 2 4GB DDR3 RAM sticks and Windows WILL see it. I've installed 8 GB RAM and a 96GB Kingston SSD. I've experienced NO lag (even before with the standard hard drive and 4GB RAM installed), the screen is incredible for the laptop's size, lightweight, and the chassis DOES NOT get hot - not even a little bit. You can watch movies with this laptop on your lap or on a soft surface and it still won't get hot. It's also very quiet. I've heard the fan a couple times during the initial boot sequence, but nothing after. I couldn't be happier with this laptop. I also can't speak on the SP1 installation issue as I installed a clean OS with SP1 already included in the installer.
Pros: - Lightweight and slim - Quick on, off, and processing - Battery life is good.
Cons: - Keyboard takes getting used to - the keys are wide and totally flat. - Lots of bloatware
Overall Review: Beware of Acer's $199 "3-year total notebook protection bundle" extended warranty which they don't explain online. An Acer rep told me it covers everything but couldn't send me any details or point to them online. My brand new Acer notebook couldn't get wireless public internet access anywhere, so I called Acer and was told it's a software issue and that the warranty doesn't cover that. A supervisor informed me that he can transfer me to another party who can troubleshoot software issues for a nominal fee. That other party turned out to be a third-party vendor, and the nominal fee was was $99.99 for 1 issue over 3 consecutive days; $149.99 for 5 issues for 3 consecutive days over the course of a year; or 15 issues over the course of a year for $199.99. Ahem.
Pros: I absolutely love this laptop for lots of reasons. 1. Portability - its super thin and small, like a netbook but SOO much more powerful- no dedicated graphics, but really, who wants to game on a computer this small? 2.Quick with 4GB DDR3 it boots up fast and launches applications quickly 3. Quiet - Is this thing on? If the screen were not illuminated, you wouldn't know it and it does not get very hot like most laptops do. 4. Clear screen and web cam 5. Keyboard is amazing for as small as the computer is. 6. Battery Life - even playing flash games this battery lasts for like 4 hours and if I'm just doing homework or web browsing it lasts for like 6-7 hours, maybe more. I love everything about this laptop and would recommended it to anyone who craves power and portability!
Cons: Someone mentioned the KB- its an 11" laptop- and for 11" its GREAT! Someone mentioned a SSD - sure that would be cool, but then it would cost at least $100 more...
Overall Review: For the price, this is the small laptop you've been looking for! I'm buying another one now for my dad for father's day because I know he'll love how much faster it is than an atom powered 1GB netbook AND its lighter too!
Pros: -Battery life is excellent 7-8 hrs. -Gigabit LAN is a must have. -Screen resolution is good plus has HDMI out -Size is perfect, I wondered if the small screen was going to be an issue but it is not. This thing sitting on your desk takes minimal space and doesn't seem to compromise much of anything. -Runs cool -low power I like this machine BETTER than my 15.6" I7 laptop just because of its ultra-portability and battery life. The performance is very good for what it is. HIGHLY RECOMENDED if you are looking for a notebook in this class!
Cons: Bloat ware! Once all the garbage trial ware and such is out of the way the experience is even better.
Overall Review: Has a restore partition if needed.
Pros: so I ended up buying this from my friend! This is my work computer and I use it all day. It's great to have such a light computer to carry around, and its fast. the charger is the size of a cell phone charger. With sleep mode, my battery lasts all day at work. I would guess 5-7 hours, but I have never done a legit test to drain it fully. (we installed a low power Intel SSD, however).
Cons: no major cons. I've gotten used to the Acer keyboard. I'd rather type on a Lenovo keyboard. Hence the 4 star instead of 5. Note that all Acer laptops have this style keyboard, so if you use one you know them all.
Overall Review: This is a great light weight portable computer. If you want to impress the folks at the coffee shop, get a macbook air. If you want to work all day with a lightweight computer that won't drag you down, use this. Also, we put a super low power Intel SSD drive in it, that helps battery power a lot.
Pros: Horsepower. Good graphics. Long battery life. Good status lights.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I think I'm in notebook heaven. This, and a pleasant experience with a dual-core Atom netbook, has put Acer at the top of my list for tiny computers.

Pros: Great features in a small, light package, with long battery life.
Cons: Windows 7 SP1 will not appear in Windows Update, and will refuse to install if you attempt it manually. The problem is an incompatible graphics driver, but updated Intel drivers will also refuse to install. Acer support is a waste of time and money, but there is a fix: See Other thoughts.
Overall Review: Thanks to a commenter on another web site for this tip: while Acer support is useless, there is a way to get SP1 to install on this laptop. (1) Download the latest HD Graphics driver from Intel's web site. (2) In Control Panel > Device Manager, uninstall the existing (oem) graphics driver. Don't worry; your screen will still work, just at a lower resolution. Reboot. (3) Install the downloaded intel graphics driver. Reboot. (4) Use Windows Update. SP1 should now appear and install without issues.
