Almost perfect

Pros: Very small footprint. Acceptable performance with office-like suite. Not on very large/complex files, but still most are not that big anyway. Runs cool. Easy to get up and running out of the box.

Cons: Dismal documentation. Really, it's almost non-existant.

Other Thoughts: I saw something on the product manufacturer's website that says it's mountable on a vesa compliant monitor. In fact, The box the produt came in shows a picture of it mounted on one. When I called tech support they didn't have a clue what I was talking about when I asked about mounting the box to a monitor. So I still haven't been able to do that. If you're planning on mounting this thing to your monitor, you had better know exactly how you're going to do it before you buy, because Acer was really no help. They even gave me a number for Tier 2 support (they weren't any more help than tier 1 ). Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great little machine, it isn't for the folks out there that need a lot of documentation or stellar phone support.

Inexpensive HTPC

Pros: The Revo is small, quiet and uses little energy. Lots of features packed into a small form factor. Atom 330/Ion platform lives up to the hype. Bootbooster technology works really well. Fantastic overall value if you consider the alternatives. Video file playback is absolutely wonderful and it renders compiz animations without a hitch.

Cons: It's made by Acer which I normaly steer clear of. Accordingly, the build quality is a little suspect--not the most durable box in the world. For Linux users, there is simply not enough snort to run full-screen flash video seamlessly even with Flash 10.1 and bleeding edge drivers. HDMI audio out can be a bit dodgy in Windows depending upon the BIOS and nvidia driver combo. Not sure what to make of Acer's BIOS updating strategy for this unit but perhaps Acer will pay more attention as more units sell.

Other Thoughts: Flash 10.1 and HTML5 will eventually correct the situation for those of us who run Linux. That aside, the Revo is a fantastic value if you are looking for a quiet and energy-efficient htpc. After pricing out a number of Atom 330/ION options, the Revo is really a great deal. If the prospect of relying on Acer's design quality and/or support scares you, the Asrock, Zotac or forthcoming Asus offerings may suit you better. I'm giving this a 5 star rating, not because I think it is perfect, but because I think that the Revo provides a lot of bang for the buck for those of us looking for an inexpensive HTPC.

Excellent!!

Pros: Small profile. Low power and heat. Fast graphics. Outputs for HDMI, eSATA, Digital Audio, USB. Wireless b/g/n.

Cons: Mini-PCIe slot used by wireless network card. I was hoping to use a mini-PCIe SSD for it. But not a real issue as I can use a standard SSD.

Other Thoughts: Great unit for the price. I could not build a unit like this for less. Wireless keyboard and mouse work great at decent ranges. Once I removed all the pre-installed applications Acer puts on, it runs a lot faster. I also use a 4GB SD Flash card as a "ReadyBoost" divice and seems to work well.

Great Machine

Pros: Everything works perfectly. Runs with Windows 7 great especially with Adobe Flash 10.1 update!! 1080p flash is smooth on 46" HDTV via HDMI. Just can't beat the value for the price.

Cons: Lots of preloaded applications that took a little while to uninstall. Keyboard and mouse is a bit cheap, but expected. Definitely just throw away the speakers unless you really do not care about sound quality. I have mine hooked up to recording studio monitors and they sound great through analog output. Did not come with VESA mount which I would have liked to attach to the back of my TV, but still works fine placed next to it.

Very Happy

Pros: Got this little wonder after waiting for nearly a week from newegg. This product is awesome and simply wonderful for the price. Everything worked flawlessly out of the box. Had very little !@#ware as many people mentioned here. Updated the Nvidia drivers and Netflix, Hulu, NBC are working just fine.

Cons: None to think of.

Other Thoughts: I'm using a 46" Samsung LCD HDTV via HDMI. The PC mode display is terrible. Trying to google for a solution.

Just what I was looking for as an always on desktop

Pros: Simply, it does what I was hoping it would be capable of doing.

- HD playback is great for such a little device! NetFlix instant view is a good performer as well.
- It's quiet. It uses very little energy. I measured 19-25W using my Kill-A-Watt meter from the plug.
- SpeedFan works, and recognizes both temperatures and the fan controls. You can adjust the fan if you really need to with this.
- Gigabit LAN and eSata are speedy despite the Atom processor. I get 60MB/sec with an external drive and 46MB/sec off the LAN.

I've been waiting for over a year for something like this to come out, and it does not disappoint.

Cons: I only had a few minor aggrivations with the machine, most notably is the amount of pre-installed software made me just reinstall the OS cleanly rather than deal with it.

I also wished it was designed to lay on its side, but this is just nitpicking. The USB ports in the back are a little crowded as well when you have many devices hooked up so I just added a powered hub.

The machine might seem sluggish to some compared to a full fledged desktop, disabling Aero and/or font smoothing (!) seemed to have major improvements in both response time and being able to do more than one thing at a time. Particuarly, watching video with less suttering in the background.

Other Thoughts: I did not try the included keyboard/mouse since I have it hooked up to a KVM with my other two desktops. As a result I only briefly looked at the wireless capability since I have it hooked up to the local gigabit lan.

Using the new Flash 10.1 beta (and setting it up correctly, special care for Firefox users to make it work right) makes all the difference in the world for both Hulu to play back without stuttering as well as YouTube HD video. Make sure you have the 195.55 nVidia drivers to make this happen as well. Perfect timing for Adobe to start supporting video acceleration with the release of this little gem.

Great quiet little machine!

Pros: It's low-power, quiet, but still performs quite well with the (full) Ion chipset. It's small, even with the desk stand and the covered USB port on the front is a nice touch.

HDMI connection carries audio too, so it's just a single connection to my TV, as I use it for media playback too.

Cons: My only gripes are:
1. My system is not stable (in Win7 or Linux) with 4GB, perhaps a BIOS update is required, though none are available at this time.
Works GREAT with 3GB (1GB stock module + 2GB Kingston module).

2. The wireless keyboard/mouse adapter takes up one of the 6 USB ports, though you're not required to use it. It IS nice that the wireless keyboard works even for configuring the BIOS.

3. No Bluetooth... but I plan to add a small Bluetooth adapter to one of the remaining USB ports.

4. The plastic "hooks" used to hold the cover on are quite fragile. I've only opened the system twice and I've already broken three of them. There are both "hooks" (which break easily) and tabs (which seem to be a bit more forgiving), so the cover still stays on well, thanks to the single bottom screw too.

5. The manual, if you can call it that, really doesn't tell you anything about the system. I had to go on YouTube to find out how to open the system up to upgrade the RAM.

Other Thoughts: I'm being really picky now... but the TOSlink (optical) connector plug (thanks for including one, BTW) is black. Would've been nice if it was white like the rest of the side, but I've never seen a white TOSlink plug before, so maybe they don't exist.

With 4GB (assuming it was stable), Win7 x64 only can use 3GB. This is likely because of the lack of memory remapping in the BIOS. Hopefully Acer will address this in a future BIOS update.

Rockin little machine

Pros: hdmi
low power consumption
cheap

Cons: The amount of software that is installed on this thing is unreal. Took about 2 hours of uninstalling.

You dont have a physical partition for the OS. It bugs you to make a "disc" with is actually around 9GB. You would think they would include a partition at least.

The keyboard and mouse it comes with are very nice. The wireless usb dongle is stored inside of the mouse.

Even with the processor and ram, I feel that the system is still a little slow. I think it would had been better off shipping with XP.

Other Thoughts: There are ports just about everywhere on this thing.
