Acer GD235HZbid Black / Orange 23.6" HDMI Widescreen 1080p NVIDIA LCD 120Hz 3D Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 80000:1

Pros: This monitor is pretty awesome. I bought it for 3d, but even without 3d this monitor blows away all normal monitors. You though gaming at 60hz was smooth. HA! Try gaming at 120. It's just so smooth, that there's absolutely lag in the image at all. I was really impressed by this monitors ability to render 120fps. The monitor renders 3d very well too. It's far better image quality than my last surround setup of Acers. Very sturdy stand and gorgeous design. Looks awesome with 3 lined up next to each other. Comes with an excellent assortment of cables. One of the fattest dual link DVI cable I've ever seen, it's fatter than the power cable! An HDMI, 1/8 inch audio cable and VGA.

Cons: The bezel is pretty big. Not the absolute ideal monitor for 3d surround. But you don't tend to notice it as much after you get used to it. I have some backlight leakage on one of my 3 monitors, the other 2 aren't as bad but have a little bit.

Overall Review: I actually could notice the difference in size between my 24 inch Acers and these 23.6 inch. It seemed pretty substancial. Works with my Nvidia 3d vision kit perfectly. I am very happy with this purchase, it blows away my other monitors. Even if you're not using 3d, you should consider buying these. They're far better than 60hz monitors for gaming.

Pros: This monitor is the BEST OF THE BEST of the 120hz monitors out currently. Colors are almost perfect out of the box, and require very little tweaking to make it so. Bought from the Egg, shipping came a day early. On a side note thought *****ATTENTION***** You MUST turn on your 120hz in the Nvidia control panel to actually SEE the difference, as by default it's set up at an HD resolution of 1920x1080 at 60hz, which is set up for an HDTV. Once you change it to a PC resolution of 1920x1080 120hz, you will have to pick your jaw up off of the floor. I wonder how many people have this monitor and give it bad reviews, simply because they don't know how to utilize it's expensive features!?!?

Cons: Wish it was juuuuuuuuuuuuuust a tad cheaper, but other than that, nothing at all. When they release the 27' inch version later this year, this should go sub $300.

Overall Review: If you care about your kill/death ratio and want the most from your expensive video cards and processors ect.... BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY.

Pros: Relatively bright, decent colors (although I turned down the red and green a bit), and of course it's "120hz."

Cons: 120hz mode is buggy. Strange sharpening effect as others have reported, although it CAN BE FIXED. Color scheme is ugly, I rather would've had it be all plain black. Not LED backlit It is smooth, but in 120hz mode, once every second, the monitor will jump back a frame and things appear to go backwards. I have perfect eyesight and, while the effect is very subtle and I ignored it at first, I did a bit more testing and easily confirmed it. To test, I ran Counter-Strike Source in fullscreen mode (getting about 300-600fps) with v-sync ON (so only one frame is displayed per refresh), and swung my view from side to side. Looking carefully, the effect was very distinct and I noticed it much more easily during normal use. The monitor also supports 110hz, 100hz, and 60hz modes, so I played with those and found that the same thing happens at 110hz, but not 100hz..so that's what I run it at now. Also, the sharpening effect is pretty annoying, see below for the fix.

Overall Review: To "Not happy" complaining about the sharpening effect, HERE IS THE SHARPENING EFFECT FIX: 1. turn off monitor 2. hold down the left-most menu button 3. turn on the monitor, holding down the menu button 4. the monitor boots in diagnostic mode 5. navigate up to OD and flip it on then off - this will disable the effect and make the display a bit brighter too Additionally, I've had the right half of the screen turn solid black at random once. Turning it off and on didn't fix it, but unplugging it and plugging it back in resolved it. It seems like this product has some pretty serious software issues. I highly suggest holding off and waiting for newer generation models which are less buggy.

Pros: When it works, it's great

Cons: The left hand side of the screen has blanked out twice now. The first time I sent it back to the factory (at my expense) and they returned it repaired claiming that they replaced the circut board. Now it has happened again. The thought of paying for another shipping is too much to bear.

Pros: Very nice monitor, 3D capable, 120hz. full HD. Color is somewhat off but can be fixed by adjusting the gamma in Nvidia control panel or display panel. Otherwise I did Brightness 70 and Contract 46.

Cons: Only 1 dead pixel but not noticeable since in top. Some backlight bleeding on bottom.

Overall Review: Monitor is somewhat wobbly but not a con to me since the table is sturdy.

Pros: 1.) Good lookin build. 2.) Liked the stand till I got an LCD Arm.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16850000336 3.) Gaming, Movies, Images all look great. Bright and Vibrant. 4.) Shipping Box made me feel the product was safe. The box was cool as well. 5.) I got it from Newegg :)

Cons: Only 2 1/2...... Which is the reason for the loss of 1 egg. 1.) When the screen is dark there is a Blue haze outlining the frame of my screen. Im guessing this is the backlight, but I got use to it. Especially cause I have more than 1 monitor I use on this PC. 2.) Responce time from Sleep Mode, or turning on the monitor is sloooooooooow.. I dual monitor and my LG Monitor turns on around 5 to 10 seconds faster than this monitor & they look the same graphics wise. Which is not a big deal & NOT the reason for the loss of an Egg. 1/2.) Control Buttons I can actually feel, but just as ANY other monitor which I call this a 1/2 con....... I can not tell what the heck button is what till I push it, or I get really REALLY close to read it; in this case of this monitor they r just dots. Maybe they should start thinkin about makin the buttons in certain shapes for us to get use to like braille.

Overall Review: I would still suggest this Monitor if it came to need to, but Id rather tell them to search Newegg for themselvs. My other monitor by LG is WAY faster to respond to the PC turning on, or coming out of sleep mode.

Pros: It's a very nice looking monitor. Colors are great, it's very sharp and crisp on the text. It's awesome for games, no ghosting at all. I haven't tried 3D yet, so can't comment on that part.

Cons: No USB ports, one dead pixel, cruddy manual.

Overall Review: The manual really needs to tell you how to get this to run at 120Hz. You need to hook it up via the dual DVI link cable and then change your setting on your rig. I had it hooked up using the HDMI cable and I could only set it to 60Hz.

Pros: The colors are great, and 3D is awesome (in some games). Not all games are perfect but the majority are nice. If your looking for a great 3D monitor then this is it.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Some people say there's backlight bleeding but I can't see it. Even if your not buying this for the 3D it's still a huge difference from 60hz. 120hz is amazing, extremely smooth gameplay.
