AeroCool X-Raider 80mm Sleeve CPU Cooler

Pros: It works, and it's fairly inexpensive. Quiet, too.

Cons: Way underpowered for a Prescott P4. The idle temp hovers in the mid-30s at first, but as dust and time set in, it under performs and starts to need attention. Also the fan started to make noise for a while.

Overall Review: A good cooler for the price, but why buy an average after-market cooler?

Pros: I just purchased my second one of these fans for another computer. That should speak for itself. However, the number one reason that I like it is simply that it is SILENT. I can't stand noisy fans.

Cons: Ok, something bad? Well... the glowing blue LED's might be cool to some folks... but, hey, I think they are stupid...lol.

Pros: Leds for clear doors if you have one, I have Rosewill R5604-BK Screw-less Dual 120mm Fans ATX Mid Tower, Have p4s 800D-X MB, Prescott 2.8, 2 gigs of pc 3200 ram @400mhz, Install was OK, attach your fan to the brackets first, I Dunno how people get a 32 degree idle, that’s like 90 degrees F, what are they using dry ice? Perhaps their mobo has great low resource idle programming or something, I get 50-52 degrees while using Lava soft scanning for spyware, Motherboard temp is 29-30 degrees. When idling cpu goes down to 43 sometimes.

Cons: Rough finish on the heatsink itself, Copper would be better I believe. Rough finish on the back of the fan, smooth would make it less Db than it already is, Fan Cracked while cleaning and the Warranty would not be honored, Had to buy my own replacement fan, what the hec Aerocool, How Much Could A Little Stinking fan cost to send out?????

Overall Review: Maybe if I took the time to sand it down it would be a little more effective.... I don't happen to have 10 billion grit wet dry handy to use. Price brings the rating up a knotch otherwise its average

Pros: Seems to cool effectively

Cons: Installation on my son's 1.5g Compaq P4 was, and remains a nightmare. The clips provided were for corner mounting, I needed a centerline mount. Had to grind down one of the side clips to slide down the groove, and still have a somewhat loose mount. Today I'll be adding an aluminum shim to the groove so that I can create enough downforce to make it fit. Overall, I was dissapointed with the product as it advertised that it would fit ANY P4. There was no guidance in the instructions for my specific type of mount. so I had to engineer my own. Also was NOT recognized by the system as being present, so the fan runs at 50% power and will not speed up as demand increases.

Overall Review: Make sure you look carefully at the mounts on your motherboard before you buy this fan. They didn't even come close to my setup. How hard would it have been for them to supply the mainboard mounts as well as the clips???? Dissapointing design.

Pros: P4 Prescott's get mighty hot so I needed to do away with the heat!Great cooler for the cost.Pushes alot of air. It cools my P4 Prescott 2.8 ghz at 45c under full load. Of course thats with using some arctic silver 5 thermal paste.Also it looks great with the blue LED's. For those who dont like nose, this is almost dead silent.

Cons: In order to install right, you have to disassemble the heat sink and fan to remove the AMD bracket. It took just a few minutes but was a little of a hassle. The clamps are a little hard to get onto the bracket on the MB. But thats for all coolers.

Overall Review: Overall, you cant beat the performance for the price. I would recommend this cooler for those who don't want to spend a bundle on a cpu cooler.

Pros: Works with socket A Inexpensive, and cheap.

Cons: LOUD. Poor quality, stamped steel and roughly machined aluminum heatsink. Cools fairly well. Tried to use a silent 1400 rmp cooler master 80mm fan but my Abit Mobo kept howling due to low speed and shutting down. It also kept it a bit too warm for my liking as Media Center PC, upwards of 58c so back I went to factory turbine fan included. It's down to high 40c range now but NOISY as hell, have to find another solution soon, it's gonna drive me crazy. I hate noisy puters.

Overall Review: Not many choices for Socket A/462 coolers now, unfortunately I needed one and a quiet one at that for Media Center PC I built of old parts using my Athlon XP Barton processor.

Pros: Available Socket A heatsink/fan, they are getting scarce! Much better cooling than OEM CPU/Heatsink. Uses an 80mm fan, allowed me to modify with a much quieter fan (Cooler Master 80mm ULTRA silent 80mm case fan #8025- only 15.7cfm and 1400 rpm, but reduced db rating from Aero Cools incl fans published 24.6db DOWN to only 13db) without sacrificing appreciable cooling of the OEM cpu fan/HS whose buzzing noise db level was probably in the +30db range. Very affordable, vs. passive or cooling tower heatsinks with comparable db level outputs, COMPACT also and simple clamp install without mod.

Cons: cheap materials, very light and narrow only one grip on each side on their socket A clip. Coarse machining on heatsink base, you may want to lap it down finer. I didn't.

Overall Review: USAGE- Media Center HT PC- Primary Goal. SILENCING. Before- Barton XP 2500 53c over-clocked to about 171 fsb & mult 12.0 with OEM fan. After- NO OVERCLOCK (i know not apples and oranges but i am after quiet -not perf now) 166mhz fsb- 11.0 mult. Arctic silver thermal compound. 50.0c It will probably go cooler when the arctic silver cures. I would have to say that the stock fan with this cooler will push the temp down in the low 40's celsius range. That fan pushes 27.6 cfm to my 15.75cfm repl fan, but at a +13db cost. Want quiet without bulk, weight, or big $$$, this is your ride.

Pros: I've had it for about a 3 months and no problems. It seems to cool well even when the room reaches 85F degrees (no over-clocking). It's fairly quiet too.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: May require some disassembly for older P4s.
