Question 1

Anyone having problems with the drivers?  I am unable to get any drivers to install other than the AMD Pro Drivers, which seem to be broken. There is no dual driver option available regardless of what combination of driver installs I do.

I tried to have a second non-Vega GPU, but was receiving issues with drivers as well, so I just threw in a GTX 1060 in stead and it works fine. I'm running the Vega Blockchain drivers and am not having much trouble. Premiere doesn't support the card well, and my mining would occasionally drop to half the rate it generally works at. Also, these cards seem to really like being at a low temp (like 65C I think), so they back throttle pretty quickly after heating up. I've tried several drivers though and they all seem to work with just one card.

why is this getting outperformed by a 12 month old 1080?

This card is mainly focused at blockchain users. Granted it performs well for other non mining tasks as well but it is advertised and designed but non workstation tasks in mind.

What settings do people run to get the fabled 2100 h/s with this card? I'm running mining drivers with no display drivers.

there are more than a few things you will need to do other than settings. but to summarize. over clock and use soft power play tables. you can easily get between 2.1 ~ 2.4 kh/s. Mine has been going at it since early december without a single failure.

No, currently the known lady killer are two nvidia 1080 Ti cards in SLI. This card might get your the lady's drag-along friend.

Can this card handle running minesweeper or solitaire at max settings without crashing the system?

If you can stand the 5000rpm fan and the temp don't get too far above 80c ...
I havn't had any luck keeping my card cool enough to stay stable at anything other than 2d so far.

Well rounded card, but not cheap or cost effective for mining.
It's extremely loud if overclocked (think small hairdryer), 
it has cooling problems
Drivers for linux don't work
Doesn't like sharing a machine with Nvidia GPU
Fickle as all hell with settings, temps, voltage, etc.
If you want to mine with it, you won't get any decent performance out of it if you use it feed your displays or gaming
If you mine with it, you will probably be extremely frustrated by the time you get it to work right.
If you get it to work right it might stop randomly due to some conflict.
Modding it is difficult.
Currently grossly overpriced since Newegg is price gouging all their graphics cards.
If you do want good performance, stick to 1080p and reasonable settings.
Nvidia has better gaming performance for the price.
older AMD cards mine a lot better than this one.

Should I buy this or wait for Vega?

If you want to mine digital currencies, pick another card, brand, and generation, if you want to do gaming, pick Nvidia or Vega 64. If you have a data/processing heavy business this would be a decent card. Probably not ideal vs other options though.

modding the cooler = no warranty ?

They also made it annoyingly difficult to mod the cooler. If you aren't going to get rid of the heat sink, don't bother taking it apart, you have to get past that before you can get other exterior parts off.

Question 9

Anyone running this on a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot? It gets recognized but I cannot run any OpenCL code because it doesn't detect the OpenCL device (a RX 580 is detected just fine), a forum post says it *must* use ROCm for which you *need* PCIe 3.0, but I resist believing it because of documentation.

Untrue. Change to another pci-e 2.0 slot. also make sure your pci-e is providing correct voltage and also your psu. this card requires a solid psu. does not need to be crazy wattage as card draw is under 300w at full load with over clocks applied.

what is the speed of the Vega Card in MHz?

There are a lot of "MeHz" in terms of hashes. Depending on the coin and depending on settings.
It's not so much about what kind of hashes the card can get, it's really more about how long and hard you want to slam your face into your desk trying to get it to work properly. This isn't really a card for a serious miner or anyone just starting out. If anything, it's a good "tutorial" miner to teach people about mining because it gets decent and horrible hash rates, has countless technical nuances, is difficult to mod, and requires frequent monitoring. And it's not even that good for gaming either. Decent compared to other AMD cards, but they still have to step up their game to give Nvidia a run for their money. And if you want to game and mine on this card, that won't be possible. Not unless you want abysmal hashes and lackluster gaming benchmarks.
