Low power, efficient for basic needs

Pros: This processor is a good performer when considering how much power it takes. I needed a low TDP processor for a virtualized Windows file server that could also handle 1 feed video decoding workloads. There is also a Linux VM running on this processor alongside the file server, and I have not seen any performance slowdown for my needs.

Cons: None. May not be powerful enough for workloads beyond my needs (multiple media decoding feeds, gaming, excessive VMs). In that case, I'd recommend getting a Ryzen series processor with more threads.

Other Thoughts: This processor works fine running Server 2016, and I have not seen any problems. Then again, I'm not using a GUI on this device, so the generic graphics driver that Windows uses works fine. The RAID driver provided for W10 also works on Server 2016 just fine. I'd assume the same for Server 2019, if anyone is interested in running such a setup with this processor.

CPU is on 24/7 for about 6 and a half months now, I have never seen it above 50c temp wise in a 3U case with pretty much zero air circulation.

A good CPU while waiting for Ryzen 3000

Pros: Cheap and OC capable

Cons: 2C 4T

Other Thoughts: Good enough CPU for some light gaming, not recommended for multi tasking like streaming (need to turn down some settings). Able to OC to 3.9Ghz no problem. Good place holder before getting Ryzen 3000.

Surprisingly Effective When Paired With a 2GB GPU

Pros: -Inexpensive
-4 threads
-Can hit 60fps in lower-demand games (such as Warframe) at 1080p low when paired with a budget GPU
-Less power consumption than Intel equivalents
-Fantastic budget or low-power value

Cons: -Not really sure why AMD decided it was necessary to make 3 versions of this thing with only 300MHz difference between slowest and fastest model
-Can't vouch for the performance of the iGPU because I don't use it on its own. It is set up in HybridExpress (crossfire) mode via BIOS and only manages my light-duty tasks such as surfing the web.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this processor to upgrade from an A6-9500e that was being used in a build that serves as a backup to my main build. The A6 was generally fine for day-to-day tasks. Sadly, my main build got killed by faulty outlets. I quickly learned why 2c2t processors are actually obsolete. Upgrading to this processor made a world of difference.

As I said, I cannot assess the performance of the iGPU on its own. I had a Radeon RX 460 spare that I decided to use in my backup build, and in combination with this processor, performance is surprisingly good on the lowest settings at 1080p. The system is able to mantain between 30fps and 60fps in Warframe at 1080p low, depending on what is happening in the game. It is also able to mantain between 40fps and 60fps in Rainbow Six Seige at 1080p low. For a sub-500 dollar machine, that's more than I expected. All this said, AMD does claim that this processor can manage smooth 720p gaming on the iGPU alone and from what I can tell of this processor this claim should be true, at least for non-AAA games.

I also edit videos for a friend. When my main build went down, going from a modern 6c12t processor to an antiquated 2c2t processor became a hassle. I was unable to edit in anything more than 240p and render time was absurd. Putting this processor in my build gave me the ability to edit in 1080p again, and lowered render time noticeably. It still takes a while to render an edited video in 1080p60, but not as long as before.

Over all, I would say that my Athlon 200ge was $60 well-spent. If you're looking for a budget processor that will breeze through daily tasks with ease and tough out heavy-duty tasks at more-than-acceptable levels, this processor should be on your list. Initially I wondered why AMD decided to make these Athlons, but now that I own one I'm glad they did.

Amazing little APU for the price.

Pros: I didn't expect that much performance from such a cheap chip. I got this for a minimal cost office build and the performance is more than adequate. It breezes through everything and can even run some games at a decent framerate!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I paired it with an Asrock B450M-HDV R4.0 motherboard and it worked out of the box without having to update the BIOS at all. That MoBo is a bit finicky with memory tho, so make sure you check the QVL list.

Best Processor Value Out There

Pros: These processors have the same cores as current generation Ryzen. Since hyperthreading is on this is half a Ryzen 5 in practice. For a light duty computer that is plenty powerful. For playing media and low power games the onboard video performs fine. Compared to the Ryzen 3 which has 4 non-hyperthreaded cores, for a lot of uses this may match the performance, and at a low power consumption of 35 watts.

Cons: The 3 gpu cores is probably not enough for any serious gaming or media production task.

This chip gets a lot of flack... no clue why

Pros: -Coming from a Core i5-6402p, an H110 motherboard from MSI and 8 GB of Team Group Elite DDR4 2400, the Athlon 200GE, an AsRock B450M Pro4 and 16 GB of DDR4 3000 (still clocked down to 2666, but with slightly tighter timings), leaving the iGPU disabled to free up those last 4 PCI Express lanes, I saw an average framerate drop of only 5-10 FPS in most games, and this is running a Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ with a GENEROUS undervolt OC. This includes games like Guild Wars 2, Path of Exile, Project Cars, Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat X, Tekken 7, Modded Crysis Wars, and some other relatively CPU and/or GPU heavy games, mostly run at 1440p in VSR, with a few more taxing titles running at native 1080p.
-Drastic drop in power usage on idle and gaming as reported by HWMonitor and HWiNFO64, as well as no longer having issues with resume from suspend to disk sleep with Windows 10, so I can now actually let my PC go to sleep, thus saving even more on my electric bill.
-Still keeps up with my pro recording in REAPER DAW, though I re-purposed the old rig for use with REAPER's native Linux client, because I'm cool like that, and need 2 desktops AND a laptop. (No, I don't, but weird flex is still a flex)
-BIOS revision dropped allowing me to OC the thing, but that would negate some of my power savings, but it's cool that the option is still there.

Cons: -Doesn't comply when commanded to make me a sandwich, even when I use "sudo !!" after being rebuked for not having super user privileges.
-Doesn't make waffles or omelettes in same scenario
-I still lose the game whenever someone reminds me of it's existence, and now you just lost the game, too, readers! Sorry...

Other Thoughts: Would Recommend, would buy again. I use my rig for gaming and pro audio, and it suits me fine. Seriously, LAN Centers need some 220GE's and some GTX 1060 6GB cards or RX 580's, and they're set, just saying. I really don't understand all the reviewer hatred and unfair testing I've seen, like TechPowerUP leaving the iGPU enabled during their 1080 Ti benchmark with this chip, so the discrete card only ran on an x4 bus, as opposed to x8... dude... not cool. Keeps up with real time audio in REAPER and MixBus and Sonar, even with a ton of VST and DX plugins... not sure what the deal is with text reviewers throwing all this shade. Meanwhile, all the TechTubeVerse loves this chip, and rightly so!!! GamersNexus, Hardware Unboxed, LTT, and Hardware Canucks all praise this little chip for beating the odds, so 3 countries and 2 continents worth of tech people disagree with the unfair crappola fest.

Athlon 200GE Works on Asrock B350 Board

Pros: - Works with Asrock Fatality B350 mITX after upgrading BIOS from 2016 factory BIOS
+ Was able to do BIOS upgrade because I had a R7 1700
+ If you don't have an original AM4 chip just go the safe route and get a 400 series board
- Works with 2666 Crucial Memory Dual Channel
- Works with Debian 9.7, openSUSE, and Ubuntu 18.04.1
+ Works with Microsoft's new spyware also... obviously
- Classic AMD heatsink mounting bracket
- Unlocked with newest BIOS from Asrock as of Q1 2019
- Plays games well
- Smashes productivity tasks and Netflixing

Cons: No problem. Would by hundreds of these if I had a reason to.

Other Thoughts: The price sometimes goes to $49 which is amazing. This chip is great at $59 but if you see it on sale, go for it. The higher SKU chips seem to be pointless compared to this.

Props to Asrock for supporting overclocking.

Great budget CPU

Pros: - Got this on sale for $49.
- For an everyday PC (ie not gaming), this works great.
- Low enough power to use as an always on home server. My Deskmini A300 build, 2x4GB 2400 DDR4, NVMe SSD draws 13W at idle (Win 10, haven't tried Linux yet).

Cons: - None so far
