Pros: This CPU from AMD has been in my very first computer for over 7 years now (2007) and is still running!
+Low power consumption
+Perfect for just browsing the internet and low demanding games
+OUTSTANDING life span.
+Set and lived with its integrated graphics (No video card what so ever)

Cons: Not really a con:
-Really old in computer terms and starting to show its age but its lasted me the last 7 years of my life.
(Slowing down, longer processes, higher ping rates)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-Of course 2.3Ghz cpu with integrated graphics cannot run any game higher than MINECRAFT level.
REMEMBER 7 YEARS OLD!!!

Overall Review: I respect AMD a lot! Although Im switching to Intel for my next pc I admire AMD's outstanding quality.
Other than that if i had >had a video card paired up with it would run fine! <Future plans)
I have had this cpu in my first(current) pc and shared it with my younger brother for the last 7 years and finally noticing with games im starting to get interested in.
RECOMMENDED Buy for a starter!!!

Good low power dual-core 12/19/2012 2:50:07 PM

Pros: -Low Power
-Dual-Core
-OC though FB to 2.5Ghz without issue, could push it further but didn't

Cons: -only AM2, but it is an older CPU.
-not quad core

Overall Review: -Purchased this to upgrade my aging file server/nas unit so that it can handle HD, huge performance gain, at a very cheap price, it speed up my mdadm raid5 writes as well, I overclocked it to see if i could and was able to push it to 2.5Ghz easily, This unit uses less energy than my single core unit it replaced, and XBMC plays HD flawlessly now.
-I did not buy this from new egg, but since i always check the site before making a purchase anyways I though I would make a good review of it here.

OUTSTANDING performance! 10/27/2008 8:39:25 AM

Pros: This is arguably one of the best chips that AMD has produced under the "low wattage" banner. I have been in awe of it's performance since first boot and it is quite impressive. Never more than 4 degrees above ambient under load on STOCK heatsink! Performance is on par with the regular 4600+ dual core AM2+ without the heat and noise.

Cons: None. 45w, 2.3ghz per core and a quiet heatsink fan are NOT cons!

Overall Review: If you are needing a top performance chip with minimal power requirements this is the one to get. I have this installed in a 'internet' appliance and it remains cool, quiet and total system power usage is under 200w at max loading.

In comparison - My 5000+ X2 Brisbane system is 485w on max load and only minimal performance gains!

HTPC - KIOSK - Business System - Internet Box - you name it this will do it! Not a PowerUser chip but still offers close performance regardless.

Amazing Little Guy 10/25/2008 1:33:59 PM

Pros: I Bought this CPU for a family member for school and slight gaming. this cpu does everything i could of asked for. plays all the she was wanting from the SIMs to SPORE. handles all her homework and Flash programs perfectly and is a beast at multitasking. its running on a dual monitor config off the Mobo GPU :P i wasn't sure the hardware could handle it but i was wrong. with stock cooler CPU never goes above 50c

Cons: none.

Overall Review: great cpu for Mid ranged gaming. work. school. and internet browsing. very good at Multitasking. even popped a ati 4850 on the motherboard and ran crysis with this CPU. so its got power you need!. deff a buy for budget gamers or a media box

Shh 10/23/2008 11:34:32 PM

Pros: Decently fast but very low power. Idles super cool (35C for me) with only half CPU fan speed. So it's shh quiet, important now that I have a home office instead of a dorm room and like listening to my Klipsch speakers more than a grain dryer of a PC case. Oh yeah and it transcodes video and serves web pages and handles software RAID-5 + JVM + JFS for 2.8 TB of disk without getting warm or lagging, so quite functional along with audibly non-existent.

Cons: None - can't go wrong if you correctly spec'd your needs.

Overall Review: Now that I can hear myself think, surprisingly ... nope :(

Not bad 10/4/2008 4:07:55 PM

Pros: Cheap, decently fast. Decent overclocker. I went from a Semprom 3800+ on this board to the 4450e, and it was a nice boost. Overclocked it to 2.8Ghz and run's stable with stock HSF.

Cons: XP X64 didn't recognize the chip at first. Had to update BIOS again after my last update a week prior, and then find some AMD driver's for X64.

Overall Review: Like I stated before running a Sempron in this server to a 4450e, and it was a vast improvement. Temp's dropped, and CPU load dropped. Very pleased with this chip.

Pros: Inexpensive low-power dual core solution for my HTPC. Runs cools and very fast in Vista 64Bit Ultimate. Plays Blu Ray movies without a hitch.

Cons: It wasn't free.

Overall Review: Need a good CPU for a HTPC? Look no further. I looked into Intel solutions, but decided this was best bang for buck. This CPU is great paired with ASUS motherboard and 2GB of DDR2 800!

Low heat, low noise, high performance 9/29/2008 5:27:49 AM

Pros: I purchased this processor for my father's business computer. I paired it with a Giga-byte 780g-based motherboard that had 128MB of sideport memory. The system performs superbly. My dad uses his computer for AutoCad, email, and web browsing. He has had no problems. The system is completely silent and there is no heat felt coming from the back of it.

Cons: No cons.

Overall Review: System details: AMD X2 4450e, 4GB 800MHZ ddr2, 2x WD 640GB caviars in Raid 1, and Antec Sonata III 500 with power supply.
