Very good Buy and Well worth the Money Spent!!! 3/25/2020 7:36:00 PM

Pros: -8 Core (16 Thrreads)
-Comes with its own wraith RGB cooler with thermal pad
-Instructions are clear
-Easy installation
-Power Horse

Cons: -Runs a little on the hot side (normal)
-Temperature Sensors are kind of weird

Overall Review: This processor is a power horse. For the price you cant lose and it will last a good while. Was a little concerned about temps but realized most of the programs were reading from the wrong sensor to begin with, make sure to use AMD Ryzen Master software to look at actual temps, it is overclocking software but you don't have to overclock anything it has just a view mode which is the initial start screen. Another note for CPU Fan, Case fans make sure to use Tctrl as your sensor and not CPU , CPU is the overall socket itself and Tctrl would be your actual temp of your cores if I'm not mistaken. If you don't use Ryzen Master , keep in mind if it seems like its running hot its because most other programs add +10 degrees because they are reading from the CPU Socket sensor. Dont forget to set your fan curves based on TCtrl as well.

Great, Affordable CPU 3/23/2020 3:29:34 AM

Pros: -AFFORDABLE!!!!!
-Handles everything like a champ

Overall Review: Will be buying and recommending AMD CPU's most likely from here on out. They are great, affordable CPU's for anyone looking to save a buck here to spend an extra there. Or just to save an extra buck period, really wish I would have went with AMD on my second build. Could have saved half the money and got a better CPU in-turn.

Hope I was just unlucky - CPU crashed on high workloads and suffered random reboots otherwise 3/22/2020 1:23:33 PM

Pros: Inexpensive. Good cooler although as others have commented, a bit of a wrestling match to put on. This would be a great bargain for those that have no trouble with their copies. I hope I was just unlucky (see below).

Cons: No obvious problems during initial build and Windows install on Samsung 970 NVMe M.2. Had one weird reboot in the middle of nowhere but attributed that to Windows strangeness. However, when doing what I bought this chip and my new components for - that is, high-volume, high-quality x264 encoding - after a time of a few seconds up to a minute or so of full workload there were failures. System would enter low-power state or reboot. No Windows log errors or BSODs. Checked for overheating (no), swapped PSU, swapped RAM, eventually blamed Asus mainboard - kudos to Newegg for speedy no-questions-asked replacement! - but this same CPU chip was giving problems. Although x264 encoding (Handbrake, DVDFab) always led to rapid failure, I was also experiencing power hangs and reboots even when Windows was 'idling'. Had similar problems on a Linux image so I figured it wasn't just Windows drivers. Swapped CPU out for a cheap Ryzen 3 3200G I bought for testing purposes, with same RAM, mainboard, PSU; no issues with Ryzen 3. So it seems I was unlucky and got a bad copy of this CPU. I've contacted AMD for warranty and we'll see how that goes.

Overall Review: First-time AMD / Ryzen builder compared to the many Intel systems I've built; unfortunately I'm a bit leery of Ryzen now. I hope AMD comes through with a replacement chip. I'm not thrilled that I had to buy a Ryzen 3 3200G to expedite troubleshooting (one could argue I didn't really need to do that, which is a fair point, but I have spent so much time on troubleshooting this build that I wanted to pin down the suspect component ASAP). At least I have a 'known good' Ryzen CPU now while I work on getting a properly powerful CPU back.

Ryzen the Intel killers 3/21/2020 1:00:42 PM

Pros: Fast

Price

Great for gaming and workstations.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Really no need to even try to OC them because I've seen no real gains for the wear and tear that it will put on the CPU in the long run. They're strong as is out the box.

Very happy with it! 3/19/2020 11:32:18 AM

Pros: -Good for multi tasking
-this is better for productivity compared to ryzen 5 3600x but that one will be better for gaming. Still happy with this CPU for gaming after choosing Ryzen 7 2700x

Overall Review: Update (4 months in)
The difference between this and Ryzen 5 3600x is the extra threads. While Ryzen 5 3600x has higher specs on all except thread count, the Ryzen 7 2700x will be better for productivity if you are not dedicating your build to gaming only. I work a lot on my PC, more than I game but I spend a lot of time doing both so I chose this one over the Ryzen 5 3600x that has similar price. I do wish I invested more money into my build initially, but that is more because I ended up enjoying it much more than expected. I have never owned a computer faster than this one, which is my first build. Run 3 monitors, all 27" even while gaming this runs quick. Also for work I will have 6 programs open with no speed reducing. ESPECIALLY with this Corona virus outbreak thankfully I decided to build a computer since I have been cooped up 4 days straight with all work transitioning to online with class lectures all online too. Very happy with this!!!

(1 month in) This is my first processor so going to keep it short because I do not know a ton about specs. I use a lot of programs for work for regression analysis that would make my old computer constantly run at 100% CPU usage. Doing those same activities with my new and first build it has been running these same programs at 20% usage. I am very happy with it and I am glad I went Ryzen 7 because I read it is better when running multiple programs and I always use multiple monitors so its nice to run everything at once instead of waiting one by one. Gaming wise, since escape from tarkov you need to be running maps on the side and excel sheets to find out best ammo, it has been working very well with that as well. I hate that game but like it at the same time.

Monster cpu 3/19/2020 1:45:23 AM

Pros: Price, power, performance, amd

Cons: None!

Overall Review: What a step up for amd, ryzen is very powerful and as amd has generally been true to is affordable. Don't get me wrong I own both amd and Intel. I'm just happy to see competition I've always liked amd a little more.

Excellent speed for gaming 3/17/2020 5:54:45 AM

Pros: Bought this to upgrade my computer, paired with the right stuff, it flies. Load times are low to non-existent, I have no complaints about my computer now. Other then it responds faster than I am used to.

Cons: What cons, it isn't an Intel.

Overall Review: HIghly recommend for upgrading to play newer games and multitasking.
