I have an asus wifi router, windows 7 operating system. I wish to use at a greater distance with an I Pad & phone. Will this range extender support my needs?

this repeater will create a new hot spot on the edge of your existing wifi, creating a larger area, but to get the most out of this router, which is a 1.5 mile extension, you have to use this amped wireless sr600ex with amped wireless ap600ex. These amped products push a higher powered, DIRECTIONAL signal back and forth, which can travel greater distances. The wifi antenna in your phone can use this signal, but it will only be as useful to the range your phones antenna can push back. so if your phone can only push a signal 300 ft, then that will be the limit of your connection. if you are just looking for a short extension of your wifi network, i would look at a different amped product, like the sr20000g if you want to create a wifi hot spot a distance away from the house (that still has electrical connections, such as a shed or backyard power plug) this is the way to go, just make sure you get the access point as well as the smart repeater.

Is this all I need to connect to my outside antenna. What else is needed once I get the signal inside the house?

The Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N Pro Smart Repeater expands the range of your wireless network by repeating the signal from your home or office wireless access point or router. Note: To achieve wireless range of up to 1.5 miles, it is necessary to use Amped Wireless Pro Series products together with line of sight: SR600EX – Pro Repeater, AP600EX – Pro Access Point and/or UA600EX – Pro USB Adapter. Indoor performance will be limited by the wireless environment and will not reach up to 1.5 miles.
