Is this good for a gaming PC? It says 75 watts but I think a PC would use a lot more than that.

Not a good match for powering a 300-400 watt gaming PC. We use this to keep the cable modem and router and other small devices (hubs, etc) powered up during brownouts. Works great for that.

Question 2

would you please provide more detail about the refreshing process of the batteries?  Do you replace a new battery or simply plug it in to charge it?  Thanks.

I haven't had mine long enough to need to replace the battery.  It stays plugged in all the time, and when the electricity goes out in you're house, it uses the battery to supply power to your connected devices.  When the electricity comes back, it recharges its battery.

Why is the spec discripency between 125VA and 75W?  isn't 1VA = 1W?

Yes, but only for DC circuits in ideal world where all things are constant. And no for any real world circuits (especially AC). To simplify things you can think of W as of an average power consumption for a period of time, while VA is a momentary (peak) power consumption.

can the alarm, for when power goes out, be silenced? or is it quiet enough during a power outage to be in  a house?

When the power is out the LED blinks. There is only an alarm tone when the battery is nearly empty.

How many amps do the USB ports (each) output?

The specs indicate "The two USB ports provide a total of 2.5 A of DC power."...
"To maximize charging effeciency the top port is used for tablets and the bottom port...for smart phones although both can be used for either."
"top port: 1.5 A (maximum)...bottom: 1.0s A (maximum)"

Would this be a good option to attach a Drobo and my router to?

I have my router connected to it. Last month I lost power for over 5 hours and I had wifi the whole time. Hope this is helpful.

I just purchased two of these and it said the units were manufactured on 8/26/2014.  Would the batteries still be usable?  Since the batteries are 4 years old, how much performance/capacity degradation would there be?  thanks. (5/4/2018)

Mine had a sticker somewhere - can't remember if it was on the box or on the item itself, that mentioned the battery refresh date.  Might have been on the paperwork inside.  Look around to see if you can find something like that.
