Pros: Excellent cooling for Intel Core i3 and i5 . Plenty of cooling ability to overclock an i3 or i5. Nearly silent in normal use. Much, much quieter than stock Intel cooler when fan is running at maximum speed. Built to last. Long warranty.

Overall Review: Update to previous review: Age now: 3.5 years CPU: Intel Core i3-540 @ 3.06GHz stock speed. Overclock: Occasional O/C to 3.68GHz for an hour or two. Case and fans: Antec 200 w/ 1x120mm front, 1x120mm rear, 1x140mm top. All fans at low speed ~ 600rpm-700rpm. Environment: Typical room temperature 21 - 22 deg. C. (70 - 72 deg. F.) CPU Temps. measured using Core Temp free utility: Idle Temps. (51 Processes + magicJack VOIP running) : Core 0 = 22 deg. C. Core 1 = 24 deg. C. Load Temps. (51 Processes + magicJack VOIP + Crysis 2 game running 1 hr + O/C @ 3.68GHz.) : Core 0 = 48 deg. C. Core 1 = 50 deg. C. You can't ask for better results than this coupled with near-silent running, and it has stayed that way for several years. P.S. Freezer 7 Pro can also cool a stock Core i7 but don't overclock it. Too much heat for a such a quiet cooler to handle.

Pros: Ran great when it was used for my old i7 860 Now it keeps my i3 550 @ 4.2 GHz cool at 147 °F under load and as low as 66 -70 °F idle

Cons: Wish the fan wasn't white The option to change the fan to one of your choosing would be nice

Cons: doesn't cool much better than stock, which is surprising, given it's size. I believe the fan is the main culprit, but there doesn't appear to be a higher speed model or any sort of fan I can buy to upgrade it, so I'm out another 30-60 bucks if I want to upgrade again.

Overall Review: I used to be adamant about air cooling(water cooling was very risky for a long time) but with the increasing prices of aftermarket heatsinks and the all-in-one water cooling kits dropping to $65, I think I'll be moving onto water cooling in future builds.

Comments: Alright, so my pc was heating up to 60+ even 70c during what I thought was normal operation. Downloads, playing games, this thing was running HOT. Was looking for a good heatsink but to install all the good ones you needed to take out your MOTHERBOARD! I don't want to do that, so then I stumbled across this one. Don't let the pictures fool you, it's big, I have a Asus p5ld2, and I just managed to get it in there. It will definitely fit, no doubt about that, but you're gonna have to mingle with it a bit. It says to push the air towards the back of the pc but I couldn't do that because it didn't fit that way. Instead I'm pushing the air to the front which I don't really mind, BECAUSE this thing cools LIKE NO OTHER! Idling temps for me were 60C!!!! Now I have hl2 loaded and it's idling at 38C! The artic Silver 5 didn't even sink in yet so it's only going to get better. I even messed up the instructions by lifting the heatsink by mistake which supposedly allows air to seep in, but it's working fine no problems. So definitely recommend, you will probably have to remove your video card to install but it's better than your whole MOBO!! PROS - Quiet, easy installation, cools great(WITH artic silver 5) AND Lightweight, Surprised by how light it is. Held Stock intel on one hand and this on the other, couldn't tell the difference. Copper, great contact. Low Price! CONS - Little on the larger side, has those twisty things to install, not a problem for me, but to some might be. Before I depart- From observation the metal on the heatsink SEEMS flimsy, but it really isn't, it's just extra flexible. The contact on the bottom is extremely sturdy and seals tight. For all those who cant stand those twisty things, DO NOT listen to those dam instructions on any of those. Put the thing in the lock POSITION first, which is the arrows pointing INWARDS, COUNTER CLOCKWISE, THEN once you put it on the cpu, get them into the whole, and push them semi in, do this to the opposite corners until all of em are in, AND THEN! You push them one by one until you hear that little click noise, then its in. Once you get the hang of it the twisty thing might even be better than screws. AND it's alot easier with this heatsink than with the INTEL STOCK JUNK! Def a must buy. GET EM WHILE it's CHEAP!

Pros: This thing is excellent for Core 2 Duos. I have an E6400 that was idling at 47 C and full load to 65 C with the stock HSF @ stock speed. After installing this thing with some Arctic Silver 5 I idle around 33 C and load at 42. Even at 3 GHZ I idled at 42 C and loaded at 52. AMAZING!!! (All temps using Intel TAT idle/100% load)

Overall Review: I really wasn't expecting much of a change between this cooler and stock (even though I had read many great reviews). I was a little skeptical but once I saw what this puppy could do I was pretty happy to say the least. This installed perfectly on a 680i SLI motherboard with absolutely no modifying or anything.

Pros: Price to performance ratio is through the roof! (check other thoughts for the hard details)

Overall Review: My e6600 was idling at 41C and under load was at 56.5C. After i installed this cooler temps went to 30C idle/ 39.5C load!! Thats a drop of 11C and 17C respectfully. This cooler is not as big as some other ones, and i found installation a breeze. I literally had it installed in 30 seconds. i wanted the clips so i didnt have to take my mobo out, and it was totally worth it! Awesome job Arctic Cooling (and as always, Newegg)!!

Pros: + Installs VERY EASILY but I had the motherboard outside of the case for the installation. + Keeps my CPU cool! q6600 run at 3.2, stable as a rock, and my cpu never goes over 49 degrees even when gaming on new games on max settings. + Best CPU cooler I've used. Excellent price for what you get. Strongly recommended.

Cons: + Huge, but what decent CPU cooler isn't these days? I bought a new master cooler centurion and had to take a part of it off just to fit this monster. This isn't really a con as you can't expect to fit it into a small or old case.

Overall Review: Make sure you've got the space to add in this monster or you may not be able to close your case.
