When it absolutely needs to stay on forever, Arctic Silver's ASTA-7G is the way to go. This permanent epoxy is made with 99.8% pure micronized silver and has a silver content of 62-65% by weight.

Arctic Silver is designed to conduct heat and not electricity even with its high silver content. When cured it does have some capacitance however, so it's best to keep it away from traces or leads. Arctic Silver conducts heat away from sensitive components and improves the efficiency of your cooling system. Keep things cool and functioning under the hottest action!

  • newegg 99.8% Pure Silver The Arctic Silver ASTA-7G made of 99.8% pure micronized silver provides superior thermal conductivity.
  • newegg High Density The Arctic Silver ASTA-7G contains 62% to 65% silver content by weight. The thermally-enhanced micronized silver improves the adhesive's performance and long-term stability.

Arctic Silver

Made with 99.8% pure micronized silver. 62% to 65% silver content by weight. Superior thermal performance.

Temperature Range:
- 40C to >150C (Bond strength is slightly weakened at temperatures below 0C due to crystallization.)

Negligible Electrical Conductivity:
Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity. NOTE: Even though Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is specifically engineered for high electrical resistance, it should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. The cured adhesive is slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridged two close-proximity electrical paths.

Compliancy: RoHS Compliant.

A set of Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive consists of two syringes containing a total of 7 grams of adhesive (3.5 grams each of parts
A and B) and a plastic reusable mixing wand.
Although heavier per set than Arctic Alumina Adhesive due to its use of silver rather than ceramic, each set of Arctic Silver Adhesive
contains the same amount of adhesive by volume as a set of Arctic Alumina adhesive and will cover the same area. Approximately
3cc total adhesive.

Arctic Silve Thermal Adhesive should be kept cold and away from UV light (sunlight and florescent lighting). We recommend refrigerating the unused material and allowing it to come to room temperature prior to use.

Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is a permanent adhesive. Components you attach with Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive will
stay attached forever.

Still works great 7 years later, even sitting in a drawer 12/2/2018 10:56:30 AM

Pros: I've only have had to use this sparingly since I bought it 7 years ago, but everytime I do need it, like for a tiny heatsink on a Rasberry Pi or Arduino board, the compound still works great with no issues.

Cons: None

This Product Should Be in Every Pro-modders Toolkit.... 2/21/2018 4:03:29 AM

Pros: - Excellent bonding strength
- Quick setting
- Excellent thermal conductivity

Cons: - None, I've been using it it for over 20 years it's the "goto product" for a number of mods

Overall Review: RE "anonymous" / "sticky stuff": I love how you attacked people for being stupid then then followed by saying of all things to use UV light to remove it? Although it does have it's place on other specialized CPU's without question if anyone was "stupid" enough (your words) to use it on a standard consumer grade CPU which I definitely would not recommend ...just how do you think UV light will help in that situation?!? Do you think UV light will work like an x-ray and magically penetrate your heatsink to start weakening the epoxy? It might be time to turn your criticism (and choice of words) inwards if something as obvious as that escaped you... Try to cut the less technically aware /new builders some slack as the last thing anyone needs to hear after making that kind of potentially very expensive mistake is that they are "stupid"

Having had a client that made this very mistake I will tell you that the only way to remove it is to remove the heatsink along with the CPU *if you are fortunate enough to have a heatsink that allows access to the socket lock and carefully wedge with a sharp object such as a razor blade in between the cooler and CPU ...when its about 4-5mm in it should separate /pop free the fun part! You're going to need to remove any remaining epoxy on the cooler base and the CPU; for this I recommend a lot of patience as you will need to carefully scrape or sand it off (keep in mind that the these 2 surfaces need to be as flat as possible after the remaining epoxy is removed and you should be okay)

Yup, it's thermal epoxy. 9/28/2016 3:44:50 AM

Pros: -An easy to use product
-Includes a little plastic mixer/spreader for ease of use
-Quick drying
-Excellent epoxy, cures very stiff with a very stong adhesive bond, thermal properties seem very close to that of CPU thermal paste.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: -No instructions beyond mix 1:1 and a "5 minute dry time", honestly that's all you really need to know.
-"5 minute dry time" is more like the working time you have, absolute maximum. Beyond this the epoxy mix will crumble and crack when you try to work it, however; after 5 minutes any two items you adhere together can still come apart.
-Mistakes can be reversed up to this 5 minute mark by scraping the epoxy off with the mixer stick (after you clean it) and using a cloth wet with acetone or alcohol to scrub (yes, scrub) off epoxy.
-DO NOT USE PAPER TOWELS, TISSUES OR COTTON BALLS TO CLEAN MIXED EPOXY: these materials will shred when you try and wipe away mixed epoxy and you will be left with a larger mess, you MUST use a woven material such as a microfibre cloth.

Oh yea, for the love of Gaben; don't use this on ANY heatsink you EVER plan on removing again. If you used this on your CPU, you'd sooner rip pins from the bottom of the chip or snap the chip in two, than remove the heatsink. This stuff is really only meant to glue on small aluminum heat sinks to GPU's or other board soldered chips.

Oops, wrong product! 4/3/2015 11:44:02 PM

Pros: Held laser diode in place where it shouldn't have fit.

Cons: Not any good for a CPU. Make sure you actually want glue.

Overall Review: I, like many others, ordered this instead of Thermal Paste. When I realized my mistake, I made the best of it and used it to slap a 445nm laser diode into a heatsink that had been drilled to large for it. It has been doing a wonderful job so far at transferring heat, and has let me get nearly 3 watts from a setup that used to generate way too much heat at 2.2.

This probably isn't the product you want. But if you're actually shopping for thermal ADHESIVE, you'll be okay with this.

got me too newegg! 3/3/2015 9:16:46 AM

Pros: None, not going to use it.

Cons: This was a recomended item when getting my liquid cooler for cpu. I always use arctic silver so i added it, unknowing they recommended the glue not the past. Way to make people waste time and money :/

Overall Review: Fix that oversight please.

As Advertised 1/21/2015 10:41:42 AM

Pros: *Works as advertised
*Once it is properly applied, it stays on!

Cons: None

Overall Review: Since I couldn't find copper sheets in the thickness of a nickel, I used this thermal adhesive to wafer 3 sheets of copper together for a heatsink. Works awesome! Make sure whatever you apply this to, isn't something you might want to take apart later. It will not come apart!

NOT FOR CPU - A GLUE 1/15/2015 6:59:21 AM

Pros: new egg buying cpu, this came up to put cpu to fan. DONT. it is a glue that will not come off. ARtic silver paste is what you want.

Cons: Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is a permanent adhesive. Components you attach with Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive will
stay attached forever. FRom their web site. Not on package. says go website to get instructions.

Overall Review: Warning should be should on description page. also should not pop up with purchase of cpu. Wrote this knowing others would say noob. hell we all make mistakes. Maybe this save someone.
