Pros: If you get it to work it has a nice picture

Cons: I bought the Netgear Arlo Q thinking this was a good deal for a 1080p HD Wi-Fi Security Camera with 2-way Audio! I was Wrong! Let me list what went wrong with this unit within 2 months!
1. I have two wireless networks and this unit was a pain to setup on either one but all my other wireless equipment works great on either one!
2. After one month, I noticed that half of LEDs in the front were only lighting up for Inferred.
3. The Arlo Web page would not let me view the camera in real time but would detect motion and record it so I could view it in the library!
4. After trying a factory reset and messing with it for HOURS it finally would not be seen at all in the Arlo Web page! I saw other people had the same error That I was having, I would get all the way to the point that it chimed for the setup and it would never stop the blue blinking and then time out!
5. Half the time the inferred didn’t work.
6. The unit gets very HOT in light intensified mode and the picture would blank out!

Overall Review: If you are looking for something that will cause you nothing but aggravation and pulling your hair out then this is the unit for you!

Pros: good picture, decent audio and controls if you can live with lag.

Cons: - live view is NOT LIVE. There is a delay from camera to Arlo servers and from servers to your streaming device. Of the cloud cameras, the arlo has the worst lag. To even make this useable I had to downsize the picture to 720p and I still get a 5 second lag.

Overall Review: netgear had a great product, but crippled by poor server load and inability to bypass server for in network streaming. avoid.

Pros: Arlo Q is the usb power cam no battries great 1080 P res with 2 way sound and it can also do non stop recording if needed noted it is WIFY no ethernet cable . I use this camera wirh the Arlo battrie powerd cams . When the dog is home alone she paces back and forth .. Kiling battries with this unit that is no longer an issue . When house is empty I run all the cams . This cam uses the same app as the battrie cams works with Android , IOS , and can be acessed with most any web brouser . We have used these cams as far as 1400 miles away with no issues they are teamed with a Lightfy system that also remotly controlls lighting . Alerts when motion is detected alerts are sent to your device . 7 day recording free works for me if needed a video can be immedatly down loaded and saved . There is also a POEversion of this unit . Easy setup .

Cons: Not really a con but the Qis indoors only .

Overall Review: Recomended dependable , cost effective and versatile .

Cons: -app could use some work, wish it was more like the NEST Dropcam app.
-the scheduling doesn't seem to work, it takes several steps to disable/turn off the camera and even when it's off the LED light is still on.

Overall Review: This is a great camera, comparisons are horrible but if you want to know about a product you want to know how it stacks up to the competition. I bought the NEST Dropcam first, which I think is the best camera by far(quality of pic, motion detection, great app but unless you pay for service(starts at $10 a month) then you just end with a camera and one motion detection a day or so. The Arlo Q has a very comparable pic quality, the specs are very similar and it offers free cloud service for 7 days, The motion detection is great(the NEST Dropcam has great motion detection if you pay for the service, the free option is not enough).
I use this to check on my puppy, I have bought the NEST, Arlo Q and an Armcrest and out of the three the Arlo Q is the better deal, the 7 day free cloud service and motion detection tips the balance toward the Arlo. I already ordered the second Arlo Q and have a Arlo Pro for the outside(but that another review).

Pros: Great picture quality and you get 10gb of free motion cloud recording that rotates off the oldest. Alert works well too.

Cons: Wish I could adjust the length of time it does the motion triggered recording. Currently it only records 15 seconds.

Cons: Requires an internet connection. You can't store your recordings locally and you NEED an internet connection to log into their site to view the video feed. That is a pretty lousy 'security' camera if you ask me.

Item is overpriced, and then they ask you (2) times during setup to pay for subscriptions to store X amount of data or have the ability for 24/7 CVR (constant video recording). If you want to add more cameras, the subscription fee could apply PER camera. Then you find out by reading the agreement that they 'may share' (and likely sell) whatever information they extract from your videos recordings, that is stored on their servers, with 'third parties' and you think...why is the camera so expensive if they're going to charge me quite a lot monthly and then sell my information?

Your Wi-Fi password is required for the camera to work and that information is stored for the camera to function. If their information/security is compromised then your home network could be as well.

Sound/Motion detection are WAY, WAY too sensitive by default; lower the settings immediately. I suppose this could be a pro/con situation, but the push notifications to my phone got really annoying, really fast. The wind would blow outside the window of our bedroom, and the shadows of the tree moving in the room would cause the camera to pickup motion.

2-way audio has a pretty bad delay, making the the 2-way mic pretty useless.

Overall Review: The price for the camera MIGHT be justifiable if you could store your video recordings locally. Until then this is a poor excuse for a security camera. The only thing it is securing, is profits for Netgear if you pay for their monthly/yearly services.

Pros: Easy setup, working great right off the box

Cons: Worked well and stable when I first set it up but forced me to update firmware to 1.8.0_5551 once I logged into the web application. After that the camera started losing connection every 1-2 min of live stream making it completely unreliable.

Pros: I haven't ever needed a security camera or system, so being a first time user this Arlo Q works well and as expected.
The 2-way audio is a nice feature, it had my kids trying to figure out where my voice was coming from.
I didn't experiment a lot with the android application, but it does allow you to control the camera and view it.
The recorded video of 1080p was clear and easily viewable in nice quality.
I am thinking about buying an outdoor camera enclosure to use this Arlo Q outside to monitor our driveway and front porch,
to keep an eye on our vehicles and see who is at the front door before answering.

It will get the job done and you can start with one and add more, or just buy however many you need and go for a complete setup.
You wont be dissatisfied, it does what it is supposed to.
