Armor Your VR Machine
Prepare yourself well to enjoy the impressive world of Virtual Reality. Before that, you have to make sure everything is qualified, including hardware, software and drivers. Motherboard is the key to connect every critical component and ASRock's VR Ready motherboards are definitely the one you're looking for. The premium quality is assured by rigorous testing during development. The sturdy components and rock-solid performance makes you completely immersed in the VR scenario. Users can be assured to experience VR enjoyments without any compatibility problems.
Premium Power Choke
Compared to traditional chokes, ASRock's premium power chokes effectively make the saturation current up to three times better, thus providing enhanced and improved Vcore voltage to the motherboard.
Dual-N MOSFET
Combining two silicon dies into one MOSFET, Dual-N MOSFET provides larger die area and lower Rds(on), so the power supply for the CPU Vcore is more efficient.
Nichicon 12K Black Caps
Supreme 12K black capacitors with lifespans of at least 12,000 hours. Compared to other counterparts on high-end motherboards that merely have lifespans of around 10,000 hours, ASRock applied Nichicon 12K Black Caps that offer 20% longer lifespans and provide more stability and reliability.
Matte Black PCB
A new mysterious matte black and copper color scheme to match the prestigious components on ASRock's high-end motherboards.
High Density Glass Fabric PCB
High Density Glass Fabric PCB design that reduces the gaps between the PCB layers to protect the motherboard against electrical shorts caused by humidity.
2oz Copper PCB
Using only carefully selected copper materials for PCB layers, 2oz Copper PCB delivers lower temperature and higher energy efficiency for overclocking.
Ultra M.2 32 Gb/s (PCIe Gen3 x4 & SATA3)
The PCIe Gen3 x4 Ultra M.2 interface pushes data transfer speeds up to 32Gb/s. In addition, it also supports SATA3 6Gb/s M.2 modules.
Intel LAN
Intel LAN provides the best throughput performance, lower CPU utilization, enhanced stability and is able to deliver ultimate network experience to users!
4K x 2K
Composed by a minimum of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p format.
Digi Power
Unlike traditional motherboards that use analog power, this motherboard uses a next generation digital PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) design, which provides CPU Vcore voltage more efficiently and smoothly, so that the stability and lifespan of the motherboard is greatly enhanced.
Full Spike Protection
Some sensitive digital components on the motherboard are vulnerable to power surges. The excessive current may cause your system to malfunction immediately. ASRock Full Spike Protection includes various technologies to prevent your motherboard's components from being damaged by these unexpected voltage spikes.
Live Update & APP Shop
ASRock Live Update & APP Shop is designed for your convenience. We provide various apps and support software for users to download. You can also easily optimize your system and keep your motherboard up to date with ASRock Live Update & APP Shop.
Note:
* The AMD Fan LED Header supports LED strips of maximum load of 3A (36W) and length up to 2.5M.

Pros: - Support for Gen 2 Ryzen out of the box - Integrated video works great with G series Ryzens - Lots and lots of overclocking options in the BIOS ... much more than I need but nice to see the options. - Good board layout (it's ITX so you really don't have much room to mix things up) that fit perfectly into my Silverstone ITX case
Cons: - Included manual sucks. It really wasn't even a manual, just printed instructions that only focused on the hardware install piece. It may be a bit of a cost saver for the company, but the trend to make everything online assumes you have access to online content independent of the computer you're trying to build. - Headers for Power and HD activity LEDs are giving me problems. Power and rest buttons work fine though. Not sure if it's a board issue, bios setting I'm missing some where, or a case issue, but I had the LEDs working before with a previous ASRock motherboard installed. Now, nothing. I'll continue to troubleshoot. It's not a deal breaker though since the rest of the board is performing like a champ. EDIT (1/15/2019). The headers work fine, it was the case header connectors that were the issue. Bumping the rating to 5 eggs ... this board is a good deal.
Overall Review: - Intially booted up with a spare Western Digital SSD that had Win10 installed. That booted like a champ and Windows recognized all the different hardware without issues. Building this out as a Ubuntu 18 Server, so I plugged in the Ubuntu install usb drive and rebooted. Ubuntu install started up without issue and I was able to format the drive in ext4, and setup all the default parameters needed to get the server up and running. No issues with any of the hardware being detected and appropriate Linux drivers being install. I was a bit wary that this "new" hardware would have some problems with Linux, but the Ubuntu 18 server software had no issues.
