Pros: Great motherboard for the price and things it offers: AM3/AM2+ boards are getting harder to find. If you have lots of DDR2 and can't afford to jump to DDR3 and an AM3 board (like me) this board is perfect. You can keep your entire dual core system, check to make sure your PSU is powerful enough, swap out your motherboard and CPU with this board and a new AM3 chip, and be up and running with no further upgrade. Then later you can upgrade to DDR3 and a new board, but this gets you on quad core now. Other things I can think of: -ASRock is a division of ASUS, so I like to assume they have somewhat similar quality control. -6 SATA ports, comes with 2 cables with clips that lock on the drive side. -Good IDE port placement for mid/large cases with top mounted drives. -Built on the older, but reliable AMD 770 chipset. -Worked fine with my AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE C3, but needed to be properly configured. See "Cons" for details"
Cons: -In my opinion this boards mounting screws are in weird places, and are not standard ATX (coming from a Core 2 Duo/Intel system with a full 9 risers ATX1-9). There are 7 mounting screws and none near the RAM or IDE so be sure you either put those in before installing the board or support the PCB with your finger when doing so. - Default voltage for X4 955 BE C3 (and possibly other chips) defaults to 1.375 when on "AUTO" in BIOS which causes lock ups on my system. Setting the voltage to 1.350 fixes this. - Make sure your DRAM voltage is right, mine was also overvolted and caused failing in Prime and IBT until properly set from 2.2 to the closest to 2.1: 2.14. The DRAM voltage is in the BIOS under "Chipset" under advanced, funky place right? - There are no diagnostic LEDs or hard reset buttons. - The 770 chipset has no integrated video this isn't really a con for most people, but you should be aware of it.
