A comparison of frames between Blu-ray movies and AMD Fluid Motion Video, the text reads: Today's Bluray movies use traditional players that repeat framers to expand 24 to 60 hertz. This produces video judder and loss of perceived detail. AMD Fluid Motion video uses an intelligent compute algorithm that interpolates frames. This results in smooth, fluid video playback.
AMD Fluid Motion

Users get smooth video playback with the lower-power APUs on the DeskMini A300 barebone systems. Enjoy removed video judder and high-quality frame-rate conversion while interpolating frames using GPU compute.

Small and strong (bought w/ AMD RYZEN 3 3200G 4-Core 3.6 GHz & G.SKILL Ripjaws SO-DIMM 32GB) 5/24/2020 9:56:24 PM

Pros: It's incredibly small with one hell of a lot of power.

Cons: If you're getting old you might need a magnifying glass to hook up some of the smaller wires (ie wifi m.2 wires). Not so much a con for everyone but it is literally the only thing I can come up with as a con at this point.

Overall Review: VERY QUIET!
Putting this next to a chromebook or equivalent makes those things look useless (they serve a point I know). Considering the price point of other small form-factor I'd say spending a few hundred more on this instead will give you a better experience streaming and TV browsing overall. Plus you can game on it! Overall I'm really impressed.

Former Intel NUC user - fully satisfied 5/20/2020 10:21:38 AM

Pros: I liked Intel NUC, but it was a complaint that I could not upgrade the CPU. This is my first time to use AMD cpu (Ryzen 5 3400G). No issues with AMD cpu. I could do RAM overclocking.

Cons: Some output ports are not necessary for most users. The cooling fan included in A300W seems to be bad. (I didn't even touch it). Many users recommended not using the cooling fan. (I installed Noctua fan. Almost zero noise.)

Overall Review: If you need a small PC on your desk, just buy this one. Better than Intel's NUC.

Died after a month 5/17/2020 5:21:52 PM

Pros: The second one I bought; the first seems to be doing fine. Needed the small footprint, and with an M.2 drive and 16 GB RAM, it's quite a capable desktop machine.

Cons: Died after a month. Now the CPU fan spins up, buts that's about it. Can't tell what's wrong at this point, but even with the combo deal, it's not worth it for 50% failure rate.

Overall Review: Would not recommend.

Very easy to put together 5/14/2020 11:41:37 AM

Pros: It’s really small and it only took me a half hour to put it together. It seems like the build quality is good.

Cons: You can’t put a graphics card in it and it has a power brick.

Overall Review: I would buy it again I am really happy with it.

Good little machine 5/10/2020 3:52:57 PM

Pros: Just as fast as a full desktop. Running 3200G and 16GB 2400 RAM. All works good.

Cons: Wireless cables are springy and hard to keep out of the fan area. The little snap on wireless ends are fiddly and don't stay on real well. I taped mine down. Lack of USB ports. Had to use a hub for mouse and keyboard.

Overall Review: Would buy again

This thing is Bad A@@... Use the stock Wraith Stealth cooler just remove the frame from the top 5/3/2020 12:56:25 AM

Pros: - Honestly feels Like a actual Desktop
- You can use the stock 3200G cpu cooler but it wont fit unless you remove the frame that's attached to the fan (the frame doesn't do anything and is just clipped on from underneath.
- Paired it up with G.SKILL Ripjaws SO-DIMM 16GB (2 x 8GB) 260-Pin DDR4 3200 - works flawless just got to select the XMP profile in the bios.

Cons: - Honestly If I said anything I would be a picky (word I cant say on here) type of person...

Overall Review: Real powerful little pc...

Good can compact 4/27/2020 1:54:48 PM

Pros: Small and portable
Installation of was seemless

Cons: Can't get Windows 10 to not crash all the time.
Reinstalled Windows multiple times to find an AMD driver that will stabilize the O.S from crashing.

Overall Review: Would not highly recommend this as AMD driver keep on crashing the system and reboot.
Can AMD and Asrock drive be stable? Upgraded Bios to the latest and crashing continues.

Will need to see what is the best driver for the Mini A300 other than that is not a bad box, if it doesn't crash all the time.

Great little barebones system 4/18/2020 11:26:13 AM

Pros: - Ridiculously small, but well built
- Easy install with good instructions
- Comes with the WiFi kit
- Great Linux support (everything worked on Arch out of the box)
- Pretty great connectivity for such a small form factor, including 3 display outputs and USB-C.
- Decent BIOS
- Fits a stock wraith cooler (from 3200G) without the shroud (also comes with its own CPU cooler as well)

Cons: - Probably not going to be upgradable unless ASRock makes sister boards in the same form factor, with the same connectivity
- No CPU overclocking

Overall Review: I used this to build a small Linux workstation, paired with a 3200G, 32GB of DDR4-3200 Crucial Ballistix RAM, and a 500GB Samsung SSD. I had to adjust the profile of the RAM to run at the right speed in the BIOS, otherwise I’ve had no issues at all.

I picked this over going with an Intel NUC, due to it accepting an off-the-shelf desktop processor and being an overall better value for the money. I really hope ASRock continues to make these kinds of kits. They’re great at saving your wallet and your desk space when trying to build small (which usually comes at a substantial premium).
