Pros: UPDATE 10-18-2016: Has been running Folding-at-Home from 8a.m. 'til midnight every day for several months now and i'm happy to report no problems. The Folding setting is on "Full" so all 4 cores are running at 100%. According to Cpuid's HW (hardware monitor) program, the cpu core temps. are between 50 and 54 deg. C. which is very acceptable, especially considering the cpu cooler is simply a heatsink with no fan! ORIGINAL REVIEW: ASRock website clearly states this board works with: "OS - Microsoft® Windows® 8.1 32-bit / 8.1 64-bit / 8 32-bit / 8 64-bit / 7 32-bit / 7 64-bit" According to other reviewers here it also works well with Linux and FreeNAS (for a home server). Incredible value in a low-power, passively cooled quad-core system.
Cons: None at the price!
Overall Review: i don't understand why people give lower ratings because of things they failed to check before buying. ASRock clearly states that the board works with Windows 7 and 8 (or 8.1). Nowhere do they claim that it works with Windows Server OS. Also, they clearly tell you the board has 4 x SATA ports so why complain that it doesn't have more? Please do your homework before you buy. As the ancient Greeks said - caveat emptor! Been running this board at home for about 5 months. Power consumption is very low and the system runs fairly cool even when left on 24/7 as a HTPC. We have a SiliconDust HD Homerun Prime cablecard TV tuner box (3 digital tuners built-in) which connects via ethernet cable to our home router. From there the TV tuner is available to every computer on our home network, both wired and wireless. Also connected to the router via ethernet cable is a Netgear 500Mbps powerline adapter. A second powerline adapter is in the other room where it's connected to the PC with the ASRock Q1900 motherboard running Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center (installed on a Kingston 64GB SSD). There's a strong enough signal over the powerline adapter to allow Media Center to record up to 3 TV shows at once on a 2TB WD hard drive. Playback is perfectly smooth with excellent image quality. Have not played any Blu-ray discs on this PC, but there's no reason to think it wouldn't work. The whole setup has worked flawlessly and the Q1900-based PC is the lowest power consumption computer we have ever owned. It's roughly the equivalent of running a 20-watt light bulb and most of the time it idles at around 8 to 12 watts.
