Pros: I used this board for my first build. I'm a complete newbie, but I researched a lot of boards and liked this one for its expandability, price, and dual GPU support (SLI). I see it as a board that can accomodate a lot of growth over the years. Experienced folks can probably ignore this review, but newbies take heart: I was able to install all the board components, mount in case, plug in all wires, and have it boot up fine on first try. So if an idiot like me can build a computer with this board in a few hours, it must be pretty user-friendly! I found everthing fairly easy to identify, and manual and included parts, cables, etc. were great. Sata II (3gb/s) support is nice and my computer boots faster than any other I've owned. Included utilities are sweet, and the PC Probe and AI Booster are very cool and give a useful Windows interface for monitoring your processor and board, and look like they will allow for easy overclocking when that time comes. :) I'm very happy with my choice

Cons: No bad experiences to speak of.

Comments: I am running this with a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego and NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT and it is AWSOME... BUT YOU NEED TO KNOW! It comes with the wrong drivers!!! Heres what you have to do if you bought this and the on board lan isn't working... Download NVidia chipset drivers 6.66 update driver for network adapter "install from a specific location" "don't search I will choose the driver to install" "Have Disk..." browse to win2k3 folder open ethernet folder select "nvnetbus.inf" and restart in order for it to take effect... Anywho, can rave about the board enough though...

Pros: Great board for the money. Feature-rich and stable. This is my third ASUS board, among several Abits and MSIs. Had for about a week now, no issues. A64-3200 running at 250*10, stable stock voltages, stock HSF. 2 WD120GB Raid 0, evga 7800GT. Very happy.

Cons: Could have done without the parallel port, just wasted space imo...

Overall Review: Not a single installation problem, sounds like some other reviewers should have a professional (or next door kid) build their next rig...

Pros: Generally good board, headers are close to the hardware to be connected to them. Plenty of ports.

Cons: Assembled system in early August, NIC failed in mid October. I've heard that this is not a terribly uncommon problem. I know someone with a premium edition of this board with dual NICs, sometimes one of them fails, so he switches to the other, then he'll siwtch back days/weeks later and it will be working again. Also, additional port header can be really close to the edge of the board, so be sure to insert your 1394/USB/serial headers before installing PCI cards. Also had problems with SATA cable connectors breaking.

Overall Review: Beginning to lose a little faith in Asus, I previously purchased a laptop from them which has a poorly designed case.

Pros: Excellent board, but DO NOT INSTALL THE NVIDIA NETWORK ACCESS MANAGER that comes on their cd.

Cons: The nforce network software that comes on the motherboard cd with the drivers is totally useless. All large downloads would complete but then be corrupt. Even shutting it off doesnt fix your connection. Completely uninstalling it is the only way to get things fixed.

Comments: First board was DOA, replacement board...perfect :) The new motherboard has been running perfectly. I'm very happy now. Here are the temps in my Lian-Li case. Pros: An inexpensive board for an SLI solution. The usual bells and whistles that one would expect with the board of this caliber.

Cons: The board died in less than a month see my other review under Asus A8N SLI premium. Which had the same problem and is indicative of a design flaw in the Northbridge cooling solutions for this board.

Overall Review: Asus has to come up with a better solution for cooling the Northbridge chips on these boards. This one uses a mini fan which has a history of failures. The premium board uses a first-generation heat pipe which also fails. The 32 SLI uses second-generation heat pipe which I hope is the solution since I bought one of those boards and have yet to install it in my PC. I am seriously considering water cooling the new board. To their credit new egg handles the problem with courteous efficiency and professionalism.

Pros: This board has awesome overclocking ability. I was able to OC my X2 4200+ from 2.2 to 2.61 using manual settings of course but it does have an auto-overclock feature for those who have never overclocked and are scared to jack anything up. BIOS is real easy to navigate!!

Cons: The only thing I have had issues with is the software for this board. Probe II is ok, but you don't get an accurate reading. Mine was flucuating +/- 20 degrees, so I downloaded Speedfan instead. The AI Booster program is also worthless. I recommend doing the overclocking research and doing it manually.

Overall Review: Good buy!!!!!
