Comments: Got it before AMD said it would not support the 64 X2.

Comments: Very good board, very stable great for small system. If you thought otherwise be aware that the Bios does not support dual core. Built in WiFi is a great idea that more board makers should include. Only has 2x SATA headers and has 4 on board removed? What was ASUS thinking? Chipset fan bearings have been making intermittent screaming noise after ten weeks of continuous usage - not good.

Comments: First off, it's unfair to give this board a poor rating just because you are pouty that you didn't check if it's dual core or SATA II compatible. I knew this before I bought the board as a smart buyer should know exactly what he/she is buying. I'm a gamer and would rather have the FX series than the dual core and didn't want to pay extra for features I wouldn't use. Secondly, the super annoying chipset fan has been replacd by a passive heatsink that keeps the MB at 33C under full load and 31C idle. No noise, no problems...I'm happy. Now for my review... This is a very nice, very stable MB. It has plenty of connectors in the back and it is not lacking when it comes to features. I have the NOS on demand overclocking turned on and it is amazing when coupled with Cool and Quiet technology. My processor AMD64 3000+ (stock 1.8Ghz) Idles at 1Ghz and then as soon as a game starts (with no user intervention required) it jumps up to 1.95Ghz. Very Nice!!! The audio works perfectly on this board. It auto detects what you have in it and there is no loss in having the audio built in. I have THX speakers and let me tell you, the onboard sounds pumps out music/sound effects just as well as any sound card will (it just uses a little bit of your CPU clock speed). I have not noticed a single stutter as the previous review states but have had continuous music for hours. This board is logically laid out and an absolute pleasure to use. The software it comes with is very user friendly and I have had no problems navigating their website. It comes with a temp and fan monitor and lets you record a history of the temps over a period of time so you can play a game and then see the performance after you quit. It is also incredibly easy to update the bios with the included software. I reccommend this for all users who are not going to whine about the lack of dual core support and lack of SATA II support just because they got this board without checking on those stats first, after all, this board was created before both of those technologies came out. But if you want to upgrade later, this board supports the AMD FX series, which kick dual core's hinny in games. If I could give 6 stars, this board would get it.

Comments: Ordered my whole pc from newegg on Wed with overnite, and payed a fee for them to rush my order. Called 30 mins later to cancel my order bc I wanted to spend more and build my pc alittle better, and they tell me I cant bc its already been shipped. Well its saterday, and I only have recieved 2 parts of my PC when everything was shipped with fed ex overnite. Fock you newegg!

Comments: Excellent board. Have an AMD 3700+ stable overclocked to 3.71 GHz on air using a XP-120 heatsink. That betters a stock FX-55 processor. However, could not get any bios to read the CPU fan. I found the 1006 bios version to be more stable than the 1008. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Comments: I bought 1 A8V-E which had a bad CPU fan connector and so I RMAed it to ASUS but I couldn't wait for it to come back so I bought another one. The second worked but when I loaded up some games, the audio stuttered. It turns out that it is a problem with the VIA chipset. Nothing I did fixed my problem, until I finally gave in and "fixed" my problem myself. I sold both A8V-E deluxe motherboards and bought a DXX LanParty which has a Nvidia chipset, problem solved!

Comments: I ordered this motherboard, and mine came with a bad power connector. The cable from the PSU had to be wiggled around for the board to get power. So I went to the ASUS tech support website, which is by far the worst online support ever. After days of unreplied emails and phone battles with ASUS Customer Support, I finally got an RMA from them (becasue newegg doesn't warrant this product). It took them 2.5 weeks to fix my mobo and ship it out, and the shipping from them took another week. So after ordering this mobo on July 3, i finally got my computer up and running today, Aug. 13. Other than that, this is a pretty good mobo with a lot of features, such as built in WIFI and lots of overclocking tools. Also, this board doesn't support dual core CPUs, so watch out.
