Yes this case comes with 3 black non RGB ROG Logo 120mm fans in the front chassis set and cable managed and 1 black non RGB ROG Logo 120mm fan attached to the back. This case does have a fan controller board attached.

This case works well to accommodate most builds. The spacious interior is great for Cable management, and it doesn't make all your parts look crammed tightly together. It has a very clutter free sleek gamer esthetic provided you take the time to place your parts and manage accordingly.  An ATX motherboard with all the necessary hardware including up to 3 graphics cards and a 3 fan ROG 360 Ryujin CPU cooler has plenty of space. The internal edges fit the ROG aura sync led strips snug and the bottom has plenty of room for a small to large power supply. If you do a custom water cooling loop this case has plenty of room provided for all parts if you measure and build accordingly. So does it work with any PC build? Yes.

do i need an Asus or Aura sync compatible motherboard to utilize the lighting?

It depends.  The front-of-case lighting has basic control through a button on the top, but if you want to utilize the full range of Aura-sync capability, then you'll need something to control it such as a motherboard with an available RGB header.

No the fans are not RGB. the case it's self is RGB, there are 2 addressable headers. and the case fan controller. It can control any ROG, Aura sync, and Corsair products via Armor Crate.

which exact pcie riser cable do i need for the vertical gpu mount?

The manual says asus sells a rog riser cable made for this application. I have yet to be able to find where to buy it. I have spoke to 3 different reps at asus tech support no one can seem to help me. I really am starting to think I should have bought the asus case, strix 2080ti, x570 crosshair, ect I should have went this all gigabyte better customer service if something like this happens...
