ASUS ROG (GT-AC2900) Dual-Band Wireless Gigabit Wi-Fi Gaming Router - GeForce NOW Optimization with Triple-Level Game Acceleration, 4 x LAN, 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0 Compatible with AiMesh
Pros: Speeds were increased across all connected devices (jumped from roughly 300mbps to near 800mbps download speeds). The RBG colors are a neat little addition to the router. Game prioritization is amazing and the router offers different methods of doing so though one of them is a paid option. The range of the router is pretty decent with its 3 antenna and are capable of pointing them in any direction you need.
Cons: Not sure if its a manufacturer error or a software issue with this device but when attempting to set family limits on the childrens connected devices the Wi-Fi drops connectivity across all devices and even across Ethernet connected devices. Once those settings are reverted however all connection issues are fixed.
The RBG lights are bright at night (though it does have an on/off button).
Overall Review: I would absolutely recommend this device for those gaming or streaming as a decently priced option for an upgrade/update of your personal router.
Pros: -Exceptional performance to range at up to 35 feet. Getting high PHY rates/good 5 bar signal coverage in every room of my 1800 SQFT home.
-Great GUI software, though it has a few bugs with latest firmware.
-Free Antivirus/Protection
-ARM A53 64 bit dual core for exceptional VPN performance.
-Great build quality.
Cons: -Range/performance after 35 feet has significant drop off. I recommend buying two of these in wired backhaul if you want to cover 3000+ square feet.
-160mhz mode only operates in 2x2 MIMO. Significant range drop off compared to a fully enabled 4x4 radio. Don't recommend using unless a future update allows 4x4 160mhz.
-Runs a little warm.
-Disabling RGB also disables radio indicators which is kinda silly. Not sure how long the RGB will last when running 24/7. LED's might die.
-Only AC.. though Current 4x4 AX radios are honestly overpriced and don't offer much benefit in 2020.
-Auto channel selection is buggy. CH157 (Auto) on my device has very slow speeds.. Manual 161 fixes this.
Overall Review: Quite happy so far. I cant comment on longevity since this model is based on the AC86U and they're known to be hit or miss.. but my initial impressions are good. The rest is on ASUS to fulfill the warranty if I have any troubles later on.
The GT-AC2900 is basically an AC86U on steroids to put it in simplest terms. Uses last generation "high end" broadcom radios which seem to perform okay, but I'd like to see more Qualcomm solutions out of ASUS in the future.
I bought this model because its one of the best AC performers on the market (AC86U) and 100% performs better than the AX58U/AX3000 at my desired range. Getting much better speeds with this unit via AX200 client.
Skip the AX hype unless youre buying a high end 4x4 design.
Pros: not even a year later.. always had bad issues and now it seems it can only handle one thing at a time before it just crashes.... wipes dont help, dont waste your time or money on this and i wont get ASUS ever again.
Cons: Nothing is good about this Router
Overall Review: its trash and wrothless

Received Item in great condition, but it was in completely in another language which I did not undertand6/18/2021 6:36:13 PM
Pros: Product was received and I'm sure it was solid as most Asus products, but in another language. However, seller helped me out with remedying the situation and was able to reimburse my purchase.
Overall Review: Great company, but didn't realize the product I would receive would be in defaulted to Chinese. I've owned around 5 Asus products and they are top-notch in my book. I just had difficulty navigating this one.

Highly configurable but unstable2/21/2021 12:17:19 PM
Overall Review: A ton of settings that you can configure. You must be pretty technical or a die hard gamer to utilize all the settings. However, wifi signal is unstable, especially the 5g. My laptop is less that 15 ft away and it gets dropped once a day. This only started happening after 6 months. My Netgear which I still use as an access point, is much more stable.

Dear Valued Customer,
I certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you. If possible, please provide me any log detail regarding your current situation. Please make sure your antennas are in their correct orientation. For optimal horizontal range please make sure your antennas are pointing directly upward. Great router, reaches everywhere in my 1800 square foot house with great signal.9/6/2020 2:03:30 PM
Pros: Awesome dashboard
So many settings to fine tune
RGB is a plus!
Reduced my pings in half
Compatible with everything in my house, I bought it to replace a linksys router that didn't like my oculus quest and this router connected to it immediately and stays connected.
Pros: Rgb aura sync works. Great coverage (for my home atleast) speeds definitely deliver to all my devices
Cons: Alot of options and tweaks in settings. Not friendly on the wallet.
Overall Review: Fantastic router overall, just wish I could understand all the functions that this comes with but that is just me and have not had a chance to fully explore all the many options it has but definitely wish there was some tool tips to explain the functions.
