For a system using a single GeForce GTX 650 Ti graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 400 Watt or greater power supply that has a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 20 Amps or greater and that has at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) @ 45-50°C ambient temperature, is the most important factor.

Yes, the express 3.0 and express 2.0 slots are backwards compatible.

The 3.0 offers some additional bandwidth, but should not show any noticeable difference (with current software/hardware there may be no difference at all).

I have a HP Pavilion P6110Y desk top machine. Will this card fit and work OK? I plan to upgrade power supply to 600 watts.

I will not use this for games. I will use this for Graphics Software, like Adobe CS6 basic, using one monitor. I am not a Pro, just a hobbyist photographer.

I have the original 6 GB of RAM, and plan to add 2 GB more, which is the max for this motherboard.

First thing you need to do is make sure that your Pavilion has a PCI Express 3.0 x 16 slot on your motherboard. If it does it will work out fine for you. Next is  to make sure that your monitor is good enough to show your pictures. Also when you order your power supply make sure that you will have all of the power connectors that you will need, if the motherboard needs extra power, enough sata connectors or what ever you are using for your hard drive and your card readers, burners, and a 6 pin connector for your new video card. I really liked this video card and I use it for games, the graphics are great so it will do fine for your pictures.

It can technically support up to four monitors by using "windows display settings function" it will allow you to identify each monitor and set one as a main display.

Is this backwards compatible with a PCI Express x16?

Yes, but you will loose performance... You won't use as much is you're using 2.0 x16(upgrading to 3.0 isn't really worth it).  Sadly I do have to say if you are think of buying this card, wait a little bit longer and get the 650ti BOOST or the 660... You get almost twice as much performance

I have an older AM2 Mother Board that has a first gen PCI Express x16 (runs in x8 mode).  I plan to upgrade the PC soon but need to improve the frame rate for my son for gamesgames temporarely.  Will this card work in the old mb until I move it to a new mb?

yes...and this is a great card...runs great and I play 1st person shooters and now get 90 fps in most games...only game that I get lower is infestation and in that game I get 60...better then most of the people I talk to with other cards

Yes, All 3.0 slots Cards will fit into 2.0 Slots but right now there isn't much benefit from using a 3.0 slot but if innovation happens on these terms then you will be lacking.

I can't answer your exact question - but - I have it installed in a ASUS|P8H67-M PRO/CSM (REV 3.0)  motherboard.  It is a great card for the price.  Runs 3 24 inch monitors well.  I quiet for it's size.  It is large so must have room for it in your case.
