I note that a number of these ASUS computers have been arriving DOA. It seems due to the power switch. Has this problem been fixed?

still waiting for computer to come back.  have now returned it 2 times for same issue.   Got the computer back in just under 2 weeks the first time.  This time has been almost 3 weeks now.  This is a major part of our business and very unhappy with this computer.  Mind you we have only had the computer for two months and of those 2 months and we have only had it in our possession for 2 weeks of that time.

I would like to keep my current monitor.  I believe it uses a VGA connector.  Will this work with this model?

Is this computer set up to plug in 2 monitors? VGA or DVI

This computer doesn't have a DVI monitor port, just a VGA and also an HDMI port. I never tried it, but conceivably you could plug in 2 monitors using the VGA and HDMI ports. But, since this machine uses Intel's built-in graphics on the cpu, it might have trouble driving 2 monitors at the same time without lagging or dropping frames. If you do decide to buy it, please try that configuration out and post a review of your results.

I am told this computer will support my choice of either Windows 7 or 8 out of the box, even though it comes with one or the other preinstalled. True or False? Thanks for your help.  Tom H.

Yes this computer will support both O.S.'s.  The one I purchased came with Windows 7 and it boots and runs very fast.  I see no reason why  Windows 8 would not run on this computer as this computer has the options if not more than some of the computers running Windows 8 right from the manufacturer.

How much extra for a GeForce 650 video card installed?

you buy the GeForce 650(for whatever price you can find). you open the case (which voids the warranty). you insert the GeForce 650 into the PCIe slot on the motherboard. you close the case. you plug the monitor into the GeForce 650. you download the latest driver package from Nvidia. you enjoy better graphics...  for around $150 for the card(last time I checked)

No, it doesn't have built in wireless. You will have to add an internal wireless card or a USB wireless adapter. It also doesn't have a DVI video out, but does have an RGB video out and HDMI out for the integrated video

is the video graphics good enough for playing world of warcraft and final fantasy 14?

It seems that although the integrated graphics that comes with the CPU is wrong (mislabeled with Intel HD graphics 4600 when it should be the 4400), a benchmark site (notebookcheck . net)reports that it can handle WoW on medium setting at about 89 fps (which is good).
