Any Thunderbolt 3 laptop should theoretically work, though not every one of them has been tested. I've used a Lenovo one successfully.

It needs to be a Thunderbolt 3-compatible USB-C port to transfer data at the speed necessary to support an eGPU. So make sure your USB-C port has the Thunderbolt logo next to it indicating its compatibility.

My laptop doesn't have a thunderbolt 3 to connect any suggestions?

Unfortunately nothing can be done without native Thunderbolt 3 support. eGPU requires this. If you were thinking of investing in this enclosure and a new GPU, consider trying to sell your current laptop while it’s still in good shape and investing in a new laptop with at least one Thunderbolt 3 port — preferably a TB3 port that’s 4 lane PCIe and not 2. You’ll have to google around to find out if that’s the case (eGPU . io and reddit’s r/eGPU are great resources).

Does this housing support PCI Express 3.0?  Will an RTX 2080 Super work in this housing and is 330W enough power?

Yes thunderbolt 3 is PCIE 3.0 minimum. I have used all kinds of cards with this egpu, even an RTX 2080 Ti and no problems.

Hello John,

Based on what is pictured on the listing page, this box does not have any front panel I/O, only the rear I/O which includes the Power Switch, Power Connector, Thunderbolt 3 port, and USB 3.1 Gen 2 port.

The power connector port is red in color, hope this helps!
