Overall Review: I am in college for Game Design and I was searching around for a new laptop to develop on seeing as my old laptop just wasn't up to the task of handling much of anything besides word processing. After looking at a ton of different options and comparing everything I settled on this being the best bang for my buck. I gotta say I was not let down. It runs Dragon Age at full specs no problem and also handles my developing software with ease. Like I said above the only things I wish it had were a back lit keyboard and a higher resolution (I mean come on Asus this video card can pump out way higher then what you set it for.) I would suggest this laptop to anyone who wants power at an affordable price and a lovely design.

Pros: So many pros about this laptop. One major thing is that this laptop is quiet! The Copper Brown back side looks sharp compared to the dull standard black. Running Windows 7 Pro on this system and because I need xp mode. So far so good. I ran 3dMark06 on it and it pulled a 7256 on the overall score. I was a little worried of the 1366x768 resolution but no need to be worried. It still looks great if you want to use this laptop for regular dvd movies and the LED are easy on the eyes esp with long hours of typing and working like I do. ASUS really pulled it together on this laptop. People complain about bulk software that might be considered useless by other system makers, but the Hybrid Power Mode with ASUS really helps the batter life and performace. Under Battery mode I am able to see over 3.5 hours of web and typing time. Runs very cool when sitting on my lap. The speakers are very loud if you take the time to adjust them in the ASUS SRS sound options or the bios.

Cons: The only cons I had was when I was trying to use the touch pad for the first time. It just seemed like it was unresponsive and the multi-touch didnt want to work well. But looks like after some use it might have calibrated itself. Now its working awesome! Don't know if other people will have this problem. No need to call newegg or asus just give it a little use and it should work itself out. I don't think that reason is enough to take an egg away because it works perfectly now.

Overall Review: The only thing I wish was that it had a back lighted keyboard. The full keyboard is a great feature and personal the chiclet design spaces out my fingers more so I get hours of comfortable typing. Oh yeah and who can beat their warranty? I guess I was one of the few people who never had problems with Vista, but Windows 7 does have some nice features. Oh and should have paid the diff and got the Blu-Ray drive for only a few bucks more. I highly recommend this computer for everyday use. It's light and compact. Guess well just have to see how this system goes in the long run. Best bang for the buck esp since its running the quad core.
